1957 Ford Fairlane 500 5.0l No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, United States
I'm selling my 57 Fairlane 500. This car was in storage for about 10 years before I bought it. As you can see in the pics, it has some rust bubbling through on both quarters, both doors and fender bottoms, various bumps and bruises.I do have rear lower quarter panel repair panels and fender skirts to go along with the car and I do have the missing trim pieces. The driver front floor is going to need repairs, the trunk is pretty solid and the frame is solid. A previous owner installed cadillac seats front and rear, which are in good condition. Previous owner also installed a 1968 302 and c4 automatic in place of the original 292. The engine runs great and transmission shifts fine, however the flex plate will need to be replaced. I will include a flex plate with the sale. The brakes will need to be gone over. I haven't had the wheels off, but the brake pedal goes almost to the floor. Just enough brakes to stop the car while moving around the driveway. There are 4 next to new tires on the car and a brand new tire on the spare wheel. The gas tank does seep and will need to be replaced. The driver door wing window and quarter window both have cracks. You could probably have this car road worthy in a long weekend or it could be totally stripped and restored. I'm sure the odometer has flipped. Either way, it is a good car NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH A BEAUTY QUEEN! I do have the title in my name in hand and ready to go. I can be reached at 717 413 2926 to answer any questions or arrange a time to come and see. 500.00 Deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, balance due in cash in person within 7 days of auction end unless we reach an agreement otherwise. Please don't email me, I prefer phone contact. If I don't answer, leave a message and I will return your call promptly. My name is Chris and thank you for looking.

Jerry Seinfeld doesn't love Sarah Jessica Parker's new Country Squire in latest CiCGC
Fri, 20 Jun 2014Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has finally returned for its fourth season of combining Jerry Seinfeld, a miscellaneous celebrity and a cup of java. But rather than fondly remembering some older piece of automotive machinery, this time around, Seinfeld is utterly unable to keep his hatred of Sarah Jessica Parker's 1976 Ford LTD Country Squire from coming out to hilarious effect.
However, Parker has such a high level of infectious enthusiasm for her recently purchased Country Squire that she seems to win over Seinfeld by the end - at least a little bit. For most of their time together, the two of them drive around Manhattan and the suburbs waxing nostalgic about what things were like when these wagons were ubiquitous.
Since this is actually SJP's car, she and Seinfeld trade off driving duties, and the image above should give you some indication of Seinfeld's reaction to the Sex and the City star behind the wheel. It seems this '70s land yacht might be a little too much for her to handle in New York traffic. Regardless, she is absolutely in love with her Ford.

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy
Tue, 07 May 2013With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
