this car was built in long beach california. never left cal untill I bought it 2 years ago.was going to make a hot rod out of it but it's just too nice to cut up. it has 89,522 miles on it . it had 88,832 when i got it. drove it back from cal to utah no problems at all very nice & smooth 17 mpg @ 75 mph. as you can see from the pics that this one of the most rust free cars out there only 2 little spots that i can find. the engine & trans have been rebuilt some time in the past [don't know when] so quiet you can hardly hear it running. drives like a new car.brakes have all been done with all new hoses& wheel cyls new shocks, tires,  power steering has all been rebuilt. interior is original except the seats & new padded dash.had one repaint done 25 years ago.I took lots of pics of the underside of body no rust through only surface didn't want to clean it up so you could see just how solid this car really is. floor pans, rockers.quarter panels, trunk, fenders above&below headlights theres no rust  whatso ever. crome & stainless is in very good shape normal tiny dings. the drivers door glass has a crack in it all other glass is in great shape no wiper marks in windshield or chips still has original windshield.stored inside all its life.looked a long time to find this one. then i found a 56 sedan to make my hotrod out of that's the only reason I'am selling this one.this car is going to make someone very happy, very low reserve for a car like this. this car is for sale locally so I may remove from auction early if it sells but not after reserve has been met. also this is a factory one color car most were 2 tone. good luck bidding. winner won't be sorry, i've seen alot of rust buckets out there. this is not one of them!!!!

FBI investigating recently fired Ford engineer for espionage

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Agents of the FBI are investigating a potential case of industrial espionage involving a recently fired Ford employee. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer had its world headquarters searched by FBI agents on July 11, and according to The Detroit News, had warrants to seize recording devices handed over to Ford by Sharon Leach, a now-former Ford engineer.
Leach, who had spent 17 years with the Blue Oval, was fired last month, after Ford Security relieved her of eight Sansa listening devices. The FBI got involved shortly after her dismissal, searching her home on June 20 and seizing some two dozen items, including computers, jump drives and financial records, according to warrants obtained by The News.
Ford has remained quiet on the matter, with spokeswoman Susan Krusel confirming that the automaker was working with the FBI as part of a "joint investigation," while declining to provide any additional details.

Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator

Wed, Nov 8 2017

General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:

The history and future of the Ford Bronco

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
