Ford: F-350 Xlt Premium on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
2012 Ford F350 XLT Premium Package 4X4 Single Rear Wheel I have meticulously maintained this vehicle. I have all service records if you so request them. Always serviced at the same place, which is where I bought the vehicle from- Jarrett Scott Ford in Plant City. I have original window sticker for truck as well if you would like to see that. Please ask any questions you may have. As you can see there is a small dent in tailgate as pictured. I may have that pulled out prior to sale of vehicle, if not it will come that way. I rarely tow anything with this truck besides my brothers boat a few times. Other than that I use it as a daily driver to get me 8 miles to work one way and a family vehicle. Just trying to sell in order to get something a little more family friendly. Truck has never been chipped or reprogramed by any means. Other than the added options listed below it is bone stock. Possibly missing something on the standard option list, but if it seems to be please just ask. Standard Options: (There is a differene in XLT and XLT Premium) Power LocksPower WindowsPower Driver Seat6 Seater truck (Fold up console in front)Cold A/CAutomatic4WD is on the floor in this truck not a knob (Personally I feel that is more reliable)Vehichle has Sync (subscription required)Bluetooth Enabled- No subscription needed for this- Hooks right to phone and you can voice command everything from there2 Car Charge Ports and 1 USB charge port-also used for playing music MirrorsSmart Dash as you can see pictured Added Options: Leveling Kit 35 Toyo Open Country A/T Less than 10k miles on themTruxedo Lo Pro Bed Cover- This one will roll up to back window and strap thereLine-X Spray in Bedliner

Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
The News has the full story on this strange bit of marketing. Head over and take a look.
2015 Fisker-Galpin Rocket Quick Spin [w/video]
Fri, Aug 21 2015There is no shortage of fast Mustangs these days. Roush and Saleen will tune your ordinary 'Stang into something really special. Ford itself offers hot coupes like the new Shelby GT350. Don't even get me started on the endless aftermarket catalogs full of bolt-on whats-its and performance upgrades. Standing out within the huge crowd of tuned Mustangs is hard to do. But you'll definitely notice this one. "I always wanted to do a Mustang," Henrik Fisker told me as we walked toward his latest creation, the Rocket, parked outside the Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA. The man knows a thing or two about design, after all. He penned the BMW Z8, as well as the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. But this Rocket is, well, ugly. The rear end isn't totally terrible, and those 21-inch wheels are sort of cool, but taken as a whole, it looks like it swallowed something it doesn't like the taste of. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder – or perhaps, the creator – so we'll let Mr. Fisker explain why the car looks the way it does. See the video below for his brief design walkaround. If you can get past the looks, there's a world of performance to unleash, thanks to the boys at Galpin Auto Sports – the same folks responsible for the GTR1 I drove last year. The Mustang's 5.0-liter V8 gets a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger that improves output to 725 horsepower (the torque figure isn't available), and the car's suspension has been thoroughly reworked to help put all that grunt to the ground. It's very good, yet very familiar. Let me explain. Driving Notes Like the stock Mustang, it's really easy to drive. The car fires up with a growl, you move the shifter into first gear, and the action of engagement is as solid as it is in the normal 5.0-liter car. Both the clutch and throttle have a progressive action, so it's super easy to launch the Rocket (sorry). Once you get going, there's a ton of power to unleash. It doesn't smack you in the face right up front, though – the power delivery is smooth and linear. Easy to manage, too, thanks to that slick six-speed manual transmission. Credit Ford (and Getrag) for making a manual that's able to handle so much extra grunt. That said, the Rocket feels like your typical fast Mustang. It goes like hell in a straight line and there isn't a ton of steering feel. Galpin retuned the electronic power-assisted steering, but it's still too light considering the added power of the car.
Ford files trademark application for 'Model E'
Fri, 27 Dec 2013In early December, Ford filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Model E." Historically, Ford never produced a Model E, and while automakers are known to file for trademarks they never use, some have wondered if the application might be used for a concept car.
Based on other recent events, though, it could be a legal move. In 2000 Ford sued an online start-up called Model E over the similarity of that name to Ford's industry-shaping Model T, but the judge dismissed the case citing lack of proper grounds. In August 2013, Tesla applied for trademark registration for Model E, and at the time, Ford said it would review the application. Tesla actually made two applications for Model E, one for automobiles and structural parts therefore, the other for "providing maintenance and repair services for automobiles," and there are plenty of theories about what the name could be applied to.
The Published for Opposition date for Tesla's applications is December 31, 2013, after which anyone who thinks they'd be harmed by Tesla being granted the trademark gets 30 days to register their issues. This is just speculation, but Ford's application - which was filed for automobiles only - might be about protecting what it sees as unwelcome encroachment on the name Model T, protection it wasn't able to enforce before when the stakes were only online and much smaller.
