Ford: F-350 Xlt on 2040-cars
Livingston, Montana, United States
This truck is in excellent shape. Rarely driven, stored most of the year, every year. Needs a good home. Everything installed on this truck was done strictly by professional shops with the biggest names in the business. Never even hauled a passenger, NO animals, NO kids, NO food. Im very meticulous about everything on it. Just had the transmission fully built to the hilt, billet everything. Custom tuning is done through the SCT tuner. It also has never hauled any loads of any sort. If you call and I dont answer, leave voicemail or you can also text. 10 suspension lift 38x15.50x20 Nitto mud grappler tires 20 KMC rockstar rims Energy Suspension polyurethane body mounts 5% window tint all around with glare strip Revtek dual shock brackets ( front only ) (6) Superlift SSR remote reservoir shocks 4.56 gears California style stripped tailgate Antenna and all side molding removed Clear euro style tail lights with LED bulbs and resistors Clear euro style park lights and turn signals with clear bulbs Clear LED third brake light Custom white painted factory grill Lund rear roll pan bumper painted to match Custom bent aluminum front shackle cover attached to front bumper ATS 4 stainless steel exhaust with muffler to dual out with 5 tips Farmboy fabrication traction bars with rear sway bar removed Rear disc brake conversion Oversized transmission cooler BD Power deep transmission pan ATS five star torque converter ATS billet input shaft ATS billet intermediate shaft ATS billet output shaft ATS billet flex plate SunCoast billet forward drum SunCoast Xtreme Duty clutch kit Super Duty 4R100 steel internals to replace aluminum internals Custom tuning via SCT tuner Swamps high voltage/high frequency IDM New Alliant hybrid 238/100 injectors, not remanufactured Snow Performance water-methanol injection with boost juice only ever used, never washer fluid Banks Techni-Cooler intercooler powder coated matte black with high strength clamps and black boots Tymar intake with matte black intake tube with black boots All aluminum radiator Adrenaline high pressure oil pump Denso high torque starter Electric fuel system with fuel bowl delete and regulated return FASS 150 GPH, 3 micron, electric fuel pump with primary, frame mounted, 100 micron in-line filter Secondary fuel filter mounted on transmission bell housing next to oil filter with custom billet bracket Platinum series fuel regulator with drain hose, center mounted, on super duty HPOP reservoir All stainless steel braided lines feed front of heads, away from heat, return from rear Early 1999 Non-EBPV turbo pedestal Early 1999 Non-EBPV turbo outlet CNC machined to fit 1997 down pipe Early 1999 Thruster 2 wastegated turbo with 1.0 A/R housing and wicked wheel International bellowed up-pipes B.A.E. Ford exec downplays idea of aluminum-intensive cars
Thu, Jan 15 2015Ford certainly made waves when it rolled out the all-new 2015 F-150 made primarily out of aluminum. But while trimming weight off its vehicles is a top priority for the Detroit automaker, we shouldn't expect the lightweight metal to be used as widely on passenger cars as it has been on its new pickup. Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress on Wednesday, top Ford exec Joe Hinrichs said that using aluminum in passenger cars isn't as beneficial as it is in trucks – primarily because the weight savings isn't as dramatic, or as deeply needed. Though improved fuel economy is certainly one advantage of aluminum construction in a truck like the F-150, low prices at the pump have prompted Ford to highlight another advantage, and that's capability: With less weight on its own, a lighter-weight truck can carry and tow more than a heavier one, because it all comes down to combined weight ratings. Ford is expected to make the new F-Series Super Duty largely out of aluminum for the same reasons, and we wouldn't be surprised to see the next Expedition use the material as well. But while certain components in Ford passenger cars will be made of aluminum, we shouldn't expect entire chassis and bodywork assemblies to use the material as extensively as on the F-150, or on more upscale passenger cars from the likes of Audi or Jaguar. Dearborn is, however, investing in other lightweight materials. It has a joint venture with Dow Chemical to put carbon fiber into mass production, much as BMW has with its i3. The Blue Oval will use a combination of carbon and aluminum on its 2017 GT supercar, and it has stripped weight by removing amenities from the 2016 Mustang GT350R, but apparently neither is a method Ford can practically apply to its volume models. MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP
Thu, Aug 6 2015Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch
Fri, Oct 7 2016MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day.
