Hello diesel family and friends, my name is Tom my wife and I have been licensed PA new and used Truck dealers since the late 70's and have been involved in diesel trucks as our speciality. We have recently sold the big store in 2005 and downsized to a small mom and pop operation here in carlisle PA (E-Motors) to sell 2 or 3 trucks a month, we are small and I do this more for a hobby than anything else.(low overhead low prices) I know these old Powerstroke diesel trucks inside and out and I personally drive one and love these trucks emmensley. What I hate the older ones here in the northeast since they just melt away from all the rust and bondo they are loaded up with so I fly out west to Southern California, and other west coast and southern states to buy a few clean rustfree 1 owners and drive them home to sell in the northeast to folks who have never seen a no rust old powerstrokes. Trust me they are not cheep, but worth the extra if you can swing it. A few things to know before bidding or becomming interested in one of my trucks, I do not play games with the price, I do my homework price them for fast cash sales on the buy it now that, is what I need, I do not take trades on my diesels , but I also do airport pickup at Harrisburg International, I am a bonded tag agent and issue temp tags/title transfer on the spot at my office, I also do long or short deliverys and have on call hours 7 days a week from 9-9 east time. 717 991 0568 please guys I shoot straight so do the same to me, dont call me or make lowball offers I'm sure we both got better things to do, please do yourself some justice, and do the research on low mile mint condition 97 crews like this one, you'll see my price is very competive, bring up cash or a bank check see it drive it love it, maybe we can make a deal on it...thanks a million! I reserve the right to close down ebay for any cash buyer with deposit online on phone or on lot, I deal first come first served with deposit, My promise is to deal on a "do unto others as I'd want done to me" basis. I will represent all vehicles professionally, and deal up front and honestly, treat all customers or callers with the utmost respect and courtesy, using my abilitys, experence and talents to help all buyers get the best truck and deal possible wheather its from me of another seller, rule number 1 is to be a blessing and the blessings to me will follow eventually, my only request is you deal with me in a similar fashion, thanks folks looking fordward to meeting you...Tom 717 991 0568 I flew out to Tuscon AZ a few months ago and bought this 1 owner Arizona crew from a local Ford dealer who traded it in out there. This thing is completly awesome in every way. Cosmetically the paint is 100% all factory origional no painting or body work ever no accedents. Beautiful gloss all around since it was kept under car port and out of the hot desert sun its life. The frame just look its like new with no rust or scale, oil pan, brake lines all new looking since that is the way things are in the far southwest. Inside the interior trucks dash was kept under a fabric dash cover and protected from the heat and not cracked like most, beautiful seats, non smokers truck, was owned by senior citizens for towing of there small 5th wheel camper weekends. Its as close to new as a 97 gets inside. Mechanically just as good, the 7.3 fires right up, new glow plugs, fresh filters and fluids, brand new valve cover gaskets and injector harness all by my shop last month. Good ball joints, ty rods exhaust brakes and rotors with new PA state inspection. No oil drips, no blow by no smoke, drive her down the interstate at 75 she will not only fly but track true and straight. I went all over this truck it is just perfect, truck has been fully servaced at the Ford Dealership in Tuscon. Tires are E rated BFG all terrain in fair shape 5/32nds of rubber. Lots of expensive tow equipment, trans cooler, fold down 5th wheel ball, air bags, controller and more. Now please keep in mind folks in all reality its 16 year old pickup truck in completly origional state, so please expect some minor wear and tear like a stone chip or 2 parking lot dingger or 2 small scrack or 2 stuff like that, but nothing needing attention to distract from the overall beauty of this awesome 97. Also note there is alot of glare of this glossey body from my cheep camera look over all the photos, let me know what you think....Tom I encourage any buyer looking for a really nice square body Crew like this to get up and take a peek in person, you must be completly impressed, these in my opinion with the straight dana front axel and 4 big doors was the best hands down diesel truck ever made even over the 12 valve cummins because of the above reasons, not making any more of these and this condition and 140K low origional miles dont show up very often, truly a rare oppertunity if you have the funds to move on it....Tom 717 991 0568

NHTSA closes Ford F-Series Super Duty steering probe without recall
Wed, 05 Feb 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into 2008 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, which was originally opened last year, has now ended without a recall. NHTSA was looking into steering failures on some 336,000 trucks.
The issue rested with the steering gear - NHTSA received five complaints of failures - which was redesigned in 2005. According to the report on the matter, investigators "found evidence of broken sector shaft gear teeth and piston damage consistent with incidents of single event overload."
NHTSA investigators, however, "found no evidence of fatigue or material property defects in any of the fractures. Analysis of complaint rates by vehicle build month showed no patterns indicating potential manufacturing quality issues and no difference before and after Ford introduced design changes to the input shaft and sector shaft seals in July 2007 to address potential leak concerns," according to the report, obtained by The Detroit News.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
