94 Ford F350 Dump Dually Diesel 4x4 Fisher Plow & Sander on 2040-cars
Thomaston, Connecticut, United States
Hello. I bought this truck brand new in 1994. Was bought as a cab and chassie and body and plow were install following year. Body has a 9 ton hoist ( piston ) 2 stage not the 6 ton that was standard then . truck was always garaged. Truck has only 40,000 original miles . tires were replaced 2 years ago and have around 500 miles on them. Our company name will be removed at time of sale.Transmission was replaced by ford due to factory upgrade around 16,000 miles.Truck needs front bumper to be replaced. some rust on front fenders a bit ...it is a 20 year old truck from New England. Only major thing that needs to be fixed is the front spring hanger is broke from the frame in one spot... shop said it would be around 300 to fix. but we are backed up 2 months with work so i will take that off final price of truck . This truck has been a great part of my operations and has given me 20 great years of service. Always had all the fluids and filters changed every year , no matter what milage was on it..Interior is perfect except 1 small tear in driver side seat. Call Mike for any other questions or to talk more. 203-509-4802
I just listed but was asked a few questions so let me post them....I took the truck out of my shop today... it is very dusty in the pictures ...I should have washed it... also it never plowed this year at all... we have 2 new trucks that have replaced the older fleet.. The batteries were replaced this year. And the sander is a fisher all stainless gas unit . My shop guy also told me the truck was at Ford 2 times for the tranny...not from abuse but ford had a bad design... its great now. Thanks |

Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes
Sun, 29 Dec 2013Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.
Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.
NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
