I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK OFF EBAY WITH A BAD ENGINE AND WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE A CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE IT WAS NOT REPRESENTED AS A BUY BACK  LIKE AM. THE ENGINE WAS IN THE BED TORE APART. IT WAS BOUGHT BACK 3 YEARS AGO AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO THE BUY BACK AND THE YEAR IT WAS SOLD. I THINK I DID DISCOVER THE REASON IT WAS BOUGHT BACK THERE WERE TWO FLEX PLATES LAYING IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK WITH THE CENTERS PUNCHED OUT OF THEM. IT APPEARS THE TRUCK HAD CRANK WALK AND THAT MAY HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE BUY BACK. I INSTALLED A COMLETE ENGINE FROM TURBO'S TO STARTER AND THE VEHICLE RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT NOW. I ASLO HAD IT DETAILED. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BECAUSE MY COUSIN WAS GOING TO GET A LOAN AND PURCHASE IT OFF ME. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO GET FINANCED DUE TO THE BUY BACK ON THE TITLE. 2014 Ford Transit Connect Taxi hopes to fare thee well

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

New York City may have selected its taxi of tomorrow, but there are still plenty of municipalities across the US with citizens that depend on yellow livery cars to get them across town in a jiffy. That's why Ford is going ahead with this, the new Transit Connect Taxi.
Based on the 2014 Transit Connect, the TC Taxi boasts a number of features designed to make the compact van appeal to discerning taxi drivers and their fares, with the most notable upgrade being a standardized prep package to convert the 2.5-liter four to run on liquefied petroleum or compressed natural gas. The clean-burning fuel options will allow operators to save on fuel costs and cut down on pollution without sacrificing performance.
A lower load floor and a new twist-beam rear suspension are meant to improve the riding experience for passengers, while the longer 2014 Transit Connect sports extra cargo space as well. In addition to the CNG/LPG conversion, the Transit Connect Taxi can also be easily modified for wheelchair access. Drivers, meanwhile, will have access to optional goodies like Sync with MyFord Touch and a rear-view camera.

Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.

Ford Transit production fires up, American Pickers among first takers

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

Not long ago, the History Channel showed a seemingly unending stream of World War II documentaries, but it made a switch a few years ago to include an increasing mix of 'reality' programming. American Pickers was one of the early attempts at this new formula, with cameras following hosts Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz around the country in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as they tracked down collectibles and "rusty gold" for their Iowa shop, Antique Archeology. The show has since gone on to become one of the channel's most popular programs.
Starting in the new episode airing tonight, the affable hosts will swap their Benz for a 2015 Ford Transit, a nicely timed bit of marketing to coincide with the launch of the model's assembly at the Blue Oval's Kansas City Assembly Plant, which also kicks off this week. Ford is touting 2,000 new jobs created as part of its $1.1-billion investment in the plant.
No strangers to product placement, the guys from American Pickers say their switch away from the Sprinter is because they wanted to balance cargo capacity and fuel economy to make the most of their cross-country jaunts. They opted for the largest Transit available with a long wheelbase, extended body and high roof, giving them 487 cubic feet of cargo room. Hauling power comes from a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel engine with 190 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. Fittingly, the van wears the same Antique Archaeology logo over white paint as their old Sprinter.
