The Hubby totaled his truck in February and he used the insurance money from the wreck to buy this truck from a private party who assured him it was driven daily. He got it home and that was about it. A tire blew and even with plugging it in, it would not start.

My Husband has put many hours and much money into this truck.

 New parts include:
NEW Bearing/seal/rotor/caliper on rear passenger side.
NEW Brakes all the way around.
NEW Tires (all 6 of them)
NEW Fuel pump
NEW Block Heater and cord
NEW Starter
NEW batteries
NEW Cam Sensor
NEW High Pressure Oil pump
NEW IPR valve
NEW ICP Valve
NEW Relay
Different but working turbo (the old one was no good)
NEW Glow Plugs
NEW Wire harnesses w/ NEW Plugs
Different (Used, but good) IDM

With all the work he has done on it, he can drive it now and he has been hauling horses all summer and we used it for haying this Summer. The problem is, it won't start if it's not plugged in first.  He needs a truck that he can get back and forth to work in. Where he works there is no place to keep it plugged in. He HAS driven it to work a few times but has to start it every 2 hours to make sure he will have a ride home.

I ended up buying a Dodge for him to get back and forth to work in. #1. He's a Ford fan. #2. My truck is a gas guzzler and is costing him an arm and a leg to drive. #3. I'm an artist and thinking he'd only need to borrow it for a month or so, I painted flowers and little cartoon ponies all over it. It's been 6 months now. Poor fella.

He thinks the next step (and the only thing not new engine wise) is the injectors. We can't afford put any more time or money into it.

We bought the truck for $9,000. He has put about $4,000 into it and around $1,000 for the new tires.   $14,000 since February of this year.

We just want to start over.

We are straight shooters and WOULD NEVER do to anyone what was done to us.
*The odometer reads all zeros. The previous owner said it's because the engine was replaced.

Watch NASCAR racer Brad Keselowski do a burnout... in a hotel conference room

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

A vast majority of hotels frown upon smoking inside the building these days, but Brad Keselowski doesn't follow the rules. During his introduction at the 2013 MiilerCoors Distribution Convention, the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion smoked the tires of his Miller-sponsored Ford Fusion stock car, adding a pair of thick, black stripes to the carpeting of the Marriott World Center's conference room.
This definitely isn't a high-quality video, but it's the perfect vantage point to watch Keselowski lay down some rubber and receive a well-deserved standing ovation after pulling up in front of the crowd. Check out the short-but-sweet video posted below.

Ford abandons MyFord Touch, all hail Sync 3 infotainment [w/video]

Thu, Dec 11 2014

MyFord Touch has been among the most widely disdained automotive infotainment systems on the market, practically since its introduction in 2010. Consumer Reports was among the most vocal critics, all but advocating its lynching by an angry mob armed with torches and pitchforks. Not surprisingly, then, after such a critical walloping, Ford has finally decided to say goodbye to the unloved tech, declaring the end of MyFord Touch branding in favor of Sync 3 for its upcoming, all-new system. Ford is promising everything you would expect from Sync 3, including faster response time, better voice-command integration, easier controls and a more useable interface. The screen layout includes fewer items to make them easier to discern, and the icons are made from large, high-contrast buttons. There's also a dedicated tab for apps at the bottom of the screen in addition to those for audio, climate, phone and navigation. Another useful feature is the fact that Sync 3 can download improvements over your home Wi-Fi for easier updates. In addition to the revamped interface, the software running behind the scenes is a big change too. Rather than MyFord Touch's Microsoft-sourced system, Sync 3 uses the Blackberry-owned QNX, according to Automotive News. Such a switch was rumored earlier this year. Drivers still have to live with MyFord Touch a little longer, though. According to Automotive News, Ford said that the change to Sync 3 will happen during the 2016 model year with complete integration into the lineup by the end of the 2016 calendar year. It will come standard on Titanium trim models and as a separate option will be priced in line with the current MyFord Touch. The Sync 3 brand will carry over to Lincoln, too, but with a different look. The gallery above shows a few more looks at the interface, and we invite you to scroll down to watch a video of Sync 3 in action and to read Ford's press release about it, below. 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.
