99 F-350 XLT, fully loaded with tan cloth interior.
This is fully loaded XLT 7.3 International Diesel with a clean, tan cloth interior.
195000 miles which is just barely broken in for 7.3 diesel.

New and upgraded parts:
2 brand new rear tires (last week), and 2 front that are about 70%.
2 New Batteries and Alternator in October 2012.
New steering (tie rods, drag link, etc) in Jan 2013.
New rear brakes and calipers this week.
Ford OEM transmission installed 3-4 years ago.
4" turbo back exhaust.
Has never been run with a programmer, however, I do have a SCT programmer available from a previous truck that is available.

The bad:
Cracked windshield
Sun baked paint on drivers side and tailgate only.

Rust free. I registered the truck in IL and it was only there a few weeks. Originally a TX truck, then NW US (no salt). The truck is located in FL now. I would be willing to meet the new owner in Joliet, IL for no charge if the truck sells in the next couple days. I will drive it up so 1200 miles additional.

Clean IL title, which I will have in my possession within 14 days of listing. I am waiting on the state of IL.

I'm selling because I have 2 trucks and can't drive both at once, not do I want to pay insurance and registration on multiple vehicles anymore.

This truck is still being driven, so miles are bound to change. I drive it daily for work, often racking up 500-1000 miles a week.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.

Bill Ford op-ed argues we can't just build and sell more of the same cars

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

It's hardly a secret that the auto industry is undergoing an enormous, tectonic shift in the way it thinks, builds cars and does business. Between alternative forms of energy, a renewed focus on low curb weights and aerodynamic bodies, the advent of driverless and autonomous cars and the need to reduce the our impact on the environment, it's very likely that the car that's built 10 years down the line will be scarcely recognizable when parked next to the car from 10 years ago.
Few people are as able to explain the industry's many upcoming changes and challenges as clearly as William Clay Ford, Jr., better known as Bill Ford. The 57-year-old currently sits as the executive chairman of the company his great-grandfather, Henry Ford, founded over 110 years ago.
In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Ford explains that the role of automakers is, necessarily, going to change to suit the needs of the future world. That means changing the view of not just the automobile, but the automaker. As Ford explains it, automakers will "move from being just car and truck manufacturers to become personal-mobility companies."

2015 Ford F-150 shaves 700 pounds, adds 2.7-liter EcoBoost [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Ford F-150 is one of the best selling vehicles on the planet. Considering that, one can imagine that when it comes time for a redesign, there are hardly any half measures. For its lucky thirteenth generation, Ford has gone all-in on the single most important vehicle in its portfolio, redesigning it from the ground up.
The big news is the F-150's new, lightweight, Atlas-inspired body. Ninety-three percent of that new body is made from a sort of aluminum alloy not unlike what the US military uses in its M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees, and it accounts for up to 70 percent of the F-150's 700-pound weight reduction. As a side benefit, the aluminum body should prove more resistant to dents and dings. Built Ford tough, indeed.
If you're wondering where the other 30 percent of that 700-pound weight loss went, 8.5 percent (60 pounds) came from the increased use of high-strength steel (up from 23 percent to 77 percent) in its ladder-box frame. Ford claims this steel is comparable to some of the heavy duty pickups used by its competitors, with a PSI rating of 70,000.
