1996 F350 Crew Cab 4x4 7.3 Turbo Diesel on 2040-cars
Swisher, Iowa, United States
1996 Ford F350 XLT Crew Cab long box 4x4, 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel with a five speed manual O/D transmission , WARN manual lockout hubs, limited slip rear diff., I believe the axle ratio to be a 4:10. I bought this truck about a year ago, as a project, it had a bad motor (someone eithered it) and had sat for a while (owner undecided on selling or fixing). I purchased a long block, had the heads rebuilt and the block tanked, checked, and honed by Lawrence Machine Shop. Engine was reassembled with new cam bearings, rod bearings, main bearings, rings, oil pump, water pump, glow plugs, glow plug relay, cam sensor, several other new sensors, a reman. HPOP pump, HPOP regulator, and reman. injectors. New valve cover gaskets w/new wiring connectors, new thermostat, serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioner, new boots for intake manifold pipes, updated cold air intake. 3" down pipe and 4" exhaust all the way back, new shifter boot, and two new batteries. Body and paint in really good condition, no major dents or scratches, has been cleaned, buffed, and waxed. One small area on drivers door has blistering (picture 7), the pickup bed is typical dinged, dented, and scratched but not rusty (could use a bed liner or line-x). Interior is in good condition, normal wear on drivers seat (small tear picture13), one small puncture/hole on rear seat (picture 20), head liner and door panels in good condition. SONY AM/FM CD player. NEW CARPET. Really nice (Eagle?)Alloy wheels with 33-12.50x16 Hercules Terra Trac tires, plenty of tread left. Tow hitch, brake controller, and NEW CURT goose neck hitch with turnover ball. I have tried to remember all that was done to this truck and show as much as I could with photos, but I probably forgot something. It is a really nice truck and looks, runs, sounds good and turns a lot of heads. I have put about a hundred and fifty miles on it since completed. I never intended to keep this project truck and I feel it is ready to sell before I start liking it to much. It could use step bars and a bed liner but I will leave those touches to the new owner. If you have questions or need other photos I will try to respond, can be seen or driven locally, and will be for offered for sale locally also, so may end early. I have plenty of receipts and a clear title in hand. Contact : rkolosik@hotmail.com As with any seventeen year old vehicle there is no warranty intended or implied. Shipping and transportation is buyers responsibility. On May-01-14 at 05:55:11 PDT, seller added the following information: AS I DO NOT WISH TO MISREPRESENT THIS TRUCK, I WAS ASKED WHAT THE CONDITION OF THE REAR WHEEL WELLS WAS. THEY APPEARED REALLY NICE BUT I HAD NEVER REMOVED THE FENDER FLAIRS. I REMOVED THEM THIS MORNING AND THE FINDINGS WERE DISAPPOINTING. THERE IS RUST. I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE, PLEASE ADJUST YOUR BIDDING ACCORDINGLY. CONTACT ME IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS, PROBLEMS, OR PICTURES YOU WISH TO SEE. I HAVE EMAILED THE PERSON THAT ASKED THE QUESTION AND INFORMED THEM OF THE RUST ISSUE. |

Porsche, Jaguar continue dominance in 2015 JD Power APEAL study
Wed, Jul 22 2015The top of JD Power's 2015 APEAL Study has not changed much in the last year. Porsche remains No. 1 with Jaguar nipping at its heels, although both premium brands saw their overall score fall compared to 2014. For those that need a refresher, the APEAL Study looks at how "gratifying" a vehicle is to own and drive, rating cars and brands on a 1,000-point scale. The industry average for 2015 has increased from 794 to 798, while the total number of automakers that finished above the curve increased from 16 to 20. While Porsche and Jaguar finished at the top, their scores dropped eight and seven points, respectively, to 874 and 855. The top "non-premium" brand was Mini, which scored an impressive 825, up from 795. If the BMW-owned British marque is still a bit too premium for your tastes, last year's non-premium winner, Hyundai, did climb five points and is this year's runner up. At the opposite end of the scale, Smart sits at the very bottom of the rankings, with a score of 683 (it didn't appear on the 2014 rankings). Fiat also dropped, from fourth worst in 2014 to second worst in 2015, despite the 500 being named most appealing city car. Subaru made an impressive climb, from third worst to seventh, falling just 10 points shy of the industry average and two points south of the non-premium average. In the individual vehicle segments, eight brands earned multiple awards, with Ford, Chevrolet, and Porsche earning three apiece. Surprise segment victories included the new Ford Expedition, which beat out Chevy's popular Suburban. The Infiniti QX80 bested the likes of the Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover for best large luxury SUV, and the Dodge Challenger beat its muscle car rivals from Ford and Chevy. Most of the victories, though, were quite predictable. The Mazda6 and CX-5 took wins for the midsize sedan and compact SUV categories respectively, while the Volkswagen Golf captured the compact car win. The Ford F-150 won the large pickup category, while the Porsche Cayman was named most appealing compact premium sporty car. The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Man chases down truck thief and steams it all on Facebook
Thu, Oct 13 2016A Washington man chased down a truck stolen from his family's dealership last Saturday and livestreamed the event on Facebook. According to KOMO, a 2005 Ford F-250 was stolen from Sunrise Auto Sales in Eatonville, Washington on the morning of October 8. Aaron Babcock, who co-owns the small dealership with his father David, told reporters that after reviewing surveillance footage, he later spotted the truck while riding his motorcycle on Webster Road East. "I watched my cameras and found the video of a man lurking around and ending up taking off with my truck," Babcock told KOMO. "Cops came and made a case. Three hours later I was on my motorcycle in Graham, and they drove by me oncoming. It still had dealer stickers on it. It said diesel on the window and it had our dealer plate on it. It stuck out like a sore thumb. It was really easy to see." Once he spotted the stolen Super Duty, he wheeled his bike around and gave chase. He attempted to call 911, but was unsure if the dispatcher heard him due to noise from the wind and the bike's engine. So he fired up Facebook live and started streaming his chase, giving running commentary and updating his location as he chased the slow-moving truck. "I wasn't going to let him get away. I was going to try follow him down. I had no idea what to do," Babcock said. "Nobody could hear me on the phone so I just figured the first thing to do is pull up Facebook live." Babcock's Facebook friends pitched in by calling 911 to report the chase and even jumping in their own cars to follow the truck. At one point, he pulled alongside the truck and recognized both men in the cab. The driver was the man seen lurking around the dealer lot in the surveillance video, and the passenger was an old friend of Babcock's. "I know who you are!" he shouted at them, but the hunkered down and kept driving. Eventually, Babcock lost cell phone signal and the livestream ended. Eatonville police, who by this point were well aware of the incident, caught up with the truck in the 8400 block of 356th Street South in Eatonville. The driver was arrested and the passenger was questioned and released. Both denied stealing the vehicle or knowing it was stolen. Two sets of keys from Sunrise Auto Sales and a stolen credit card were also recovered from the truck. Related Video
