2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty King Ranch Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 6.0l on 2040-cars

Year:2004 Mileage:110024
Location:

Navarre, Florida, United States

Navarre, Florida, United States

Let's start off with the story first. I bought this truck in May, 2014 mainly to see if I would like a diesel truck. I pull lots of stuff, car trailer and cars mostly, and wanted to see if this better fit my needs and it did. I knew the truck had been hit in the drivers side door area and had been repaired and inspected on 12/30/05. There was no frame damage and it required a door and rocker panel to repair. Good job as best I can tell.
All was well and good until we moved to Florida. It seems since it had a salvage title when it left Georgia and now a clean repaired title from MS, I can't get it titled and tagged. Georgia won't change the branding (no surprise there), MS won't go back and add salvage to the title and Florida won't add salvage to the title.
All I can say if you live in MS, then you've got no problems, any other state please do your research and check with DMV. Please spend the time to look at CARFAX, it will give you an accurate history. Frankly, I'm tired of jumping through hoops with no results, so it's for sale.

Now for the truck. Low mileage 110,024, all fluids and filters changed at Ford dealer, 5/28/14. Mileage was 107,356.  At that time I was advised I needed a sensor in the water separator. It shows water all the time. They wanted nearly $250.00 to do it. I was going to do it once the fall temps arrived. So that job remains to be done.

Overall nice truck. It's always had nice floor mats in it so carpets are good. Leather seats could use a good cleaning. There no rips or tears in the seats or carpets. All power items work as they should. This includes, brakes, steering, windows, seats, mirrors, etc. There is a trailer brake controller. There's also a satellite ready radio/cd. All windows have moderate tint and there is a sliding back glass. All glass is good.

Truck has small lift with 35" tires. Wheels have spacers. If you turn the wheel all the way to lock, the tires rub the springs. There are manual locking hubs on front. There are 2" receiver hitches on front ant rear. Makes parking trailers and such in tight quarters a lot easier. There are also back up sensors.

Engine is 6.0 Turbo Diesel that's had all the upgrades done to it to make it reliable, head bolts and coolers to name a few. Automatic tranny is flawless and works great in conjunction with cruise control. Tires are good. I would stay 80%+ tread.

As for the exterior. It's nice, not perfect by any stretch but good. There are some scratches and chips consistent with this age truck. The tailgate has a peppering of dents where a chain broke and slammed into it. Works good and is useable as is but dents are there. Truck has lighted running boards and cab lights. Truck is rust free and functions as it should.

That's about it. If you want any additional pictures let me know and I'll post them. If you have any questions please ask before bidding. $1000 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Remaining due within 7 days. AGAIN, NO EXCEPTIONS!! Truck can remain for up to 30 days, but must be payed for regardless. If you have less than 10 feedback or any negative feedback, do not bid, I will cancel your bid.

Thanks

Wanted to add a couple of things. There are two gauges mounted on the drivers side door post. One is a boost gauge and works. The other is an exhaust gas temp gauge. It doesn't work because the bung has never been welded into the exhaust. It's in the truck box. The second item is a small crack in the grille that is pictured but I forgot to mention it.

Also forgot to mention comes with a SCTFLASH programmer. It has three programs; economy, towing and performance. I keep it on towing because that fits for me. I've included a picture.

Several have asked if this has always been a southern truck. Answer is yes and carfax will verify this. It left GA in 2005 and spent the rest of its time in the Smithville, Amory, and Columbus, MS areas. I've added pictures of the underside.

Also the exhaust is a Borla system. Was on it when I got it.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.

Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
