2003 Ford F-250 Powerstroke Diesel 4x4 With Vegetable Oil Fuel System on 2040-cars
Trumansburg, New York, United States
Rare, single cab 6-speed F-250 Powerstroke with fully integrated alternative fuel system (vegetable oil). Solid 4x4. 80 gallon stainless steel auxiliary fuel take in 8' bed. Vegetable oil fuel system one of the best on the market: Vegistroke by BioFuelsTechnologies. Retails for over $3000. Also included in the sale are two nearly new pro-comp tires and four custom aluminum racing rims. Truck bed has a bed-cover.
Purchased as Pennsylvania truck and has very little rust from eight years of New York driving. Selling because we out-grew it. We've put close to 70,000 vegetable oil miles on it without a hitch. Did have to replace the high pressure oil pump last year, as well as the EGR valve. For those of you that know the 6.0L, it might be best to do away with the EGR system entirely with a by-pass. I just haven't gotten to and now I'm selling. The KBB on this truck is around $12,000, and as mentioned the veg system is worth over $3000 uninstalled. (installation usually at least $1000, unless you're really mechanically inclined and do it yourself) Selling because we outgrew it. Please email me with any questions you might have. Thanks for your interest! |

NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles
Thu, Nov 27 2014US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars. Ford pranks unsuspecting blind dates with Mustang GT and stunt driver
Thu, Feb 12 2015There's 'speed dating,' that ludicrous get-to-know-you ritual devised by The Inquisition of Mating, and then there's 'dating at ludicrous speed,' which is a better description of what Ford has done in this latest video for the 2015 Mustang GT for your Valentine's Day enjoyment. The Blue Oval used a professional stunt driver to hook six guys into going on a little car trip, but the setup is the key – she pretends she's not that good at driving, until she's really good at it. You can check it out above. Kudos to the guy who goes from "You might want to shift again" to "That's what I'm talking about!" without any question. And the ninja.
Jay Leno's Garage goes eco with Ricardo HyBoost
Mon, 17 Mar 2014"Now before you turn away, this is not another boring hybrid car thing..." Despite the slightly defensive introduction from Jay, the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is actually pretty fascinating. The Ricardo HyBoost is a 2009 Ford Focus that has had a 1.1-liter engine swapped in for the stock 2.0-liter four. That might not get you performance enthusiasts out there fired up, until, that is, you hear that the 1.1L is also fed by both a turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger for an instant-on "torque-fill" effect. Sounds about right, considering that Ricardo engineering is part of the genius behind the McLaren P1.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Ricardo folks say that the package should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,100. A sort of performance-hybrid that makes sense for the frugal driver and the enthusiast one, then. There's a lot more to the HyBoost, all of which can be seen in the video below.
