2002 7.3 Liter F250 Super Duty Immaculate Lariat, Low Miles, 2 Owner, The One!!! on 2040-cars
Okeechobee, Florida, United States
I can't tell you how nice this super duty is, If you have been looking for a 7.3 truck that is loaded up with great stuff, has been babied, never beat on, rigid maintenance schedules with all synthetics, tons of service records, 2 owner Southern truck, well, you just found it =) This fully loaded Lariat truck came from Texas where I bought it from the first owner, I looked for over a year before I picked this truck up, it is that nice. Truck has approx. 158K on it, I drive it daily, lubed every 5000 miles, just did full synthetic brake fluid flush along with front brakes, fresh synthetic tranny flush too, truck is all right, tight and correct, would drive it anywhere right now. Pictures were just shot, un retouched or altered, what you see is what you get. No issues, wrecks or problems, runs strong and true, just a superb truck. Interior is immaculate, I only had to vacuum for the pics, brand new ceramic Luminar tint on the truck as well as a nice fat windshield strip... So, if you are half way intelligent, you'll be asking why I'd sell this awesome truck, right?? Well, trust me, it pains me but a move out of the country makes it necessary, simply can't take her with me... I highly recommend you come look at this truck in person if you are in driving distance, you'll be stoked, it is that nice, period. Truck is set up with a Pro Comp 6" lift along with 20" Pro Comp wheels as well as Xtreme All Terrains, a fat full exhaust with big stainless tip, super tuner, Airaid cold air intake, Ranch Hand bumpers front and rear, Killer JVC touchscreen system & remote control with NAV, amp, sub, speakers, rocks very well, full set of stock floor mats as well as full set of ford branded Weathertech type mats, bed mat and tail gate cover, new starting side battery... My chrome wheels have pitted regardless of waxing, that is the only flaw on this beautifully kept and proudly owned truck...Look at the bed, nice, never worked or beaten just careful use over it's lifetime, tailgate is just as nice too, have more pictures upon request, can only load 24 here... Bid like you want it if you are a serious buyer, there are no disappointments here I have the truck listed locally too so reserve the right to end auction early, |

Weekly Recap: Marchionne's Manifesto again calls for industry consolidation
Sat, May 2 2015Sergio Marchionne isn't taking no for an answer. Despite public rebuffs from General Motors and Ford, the leader of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles continues to push for consolidation within the auto industry. His latest assertion came Wednesday when he said a combination of FCA with another automaker could net savings of $5 billion or more annually. No, this isn't about selling his company, he claimed, it's about cutting costs. Put simply, the auto industry wastes money, Marchionne said during FCA's earnings conference call. Companies invest billions to develop basic components that all cars use, but many consumers don't care how they work or recognize the differences. "About half of this is really relevant in terms of positioning the car in the marketplace," he said. "The other half, in our view, is stuff which is neither visible to the consumer nor is it relevant to the consumer." In 2014, top automakers spent more than $100 million on product development, FCA estimated. Marchionne said consolidation could save up to $1 billion on powertrains alone, noting that almost every automaker offers four- and six-cylinder engines. Not everyone has to make their own, he contended. "The consumer could not give a flying leap whose engines we are using because they are irrelevant to the buying decision." That's pretty provocative for enthusiasts, but less so for average consumers. Still, there are major differences in power and efficiency ratings, even among similar engines. Skeptics could argue consolidation would also weaken competition and reduce choices for car buyers. Marchionne stressed his presentation, curiously entitled Confessions of a Capital Junkie, wouldn't require closing factories or dealerships. It's not his final "big deal" as CEO, intent to sell FCA, or a way to elevate his company up the automotive food chain. He claims he wants to fundamentally change the industry and its habit for burning cash. "The horrible part about this, and the thing that I find most offensive, is that the capital consumption rate is duplicative," he said. "It doesn't deliver real value to the consumer and it is in its purest form, economic waste." 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters
Sun, 28 Sep 2014The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
Ford builds Lightweight Concept with Fusion shell [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It's a fairly well known fact that removing weight from a car is essentially a panacea for many of the modern automobiles problems. Does it handle like crap? Remove weight. Underpowered? Don't add power; trim the fat. Need to improve fuel economy? It's diet time.
Actually executing a major weight reduction program, though, much like with human beings, is no easy task. Unlike you or I, where motivation is the issue, the prohibitive measure in trimming a car's waistline is money. Lightweight materials are expensive, with carbon fiber and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic still primarily in the domain of higher end vehicles. Even aluminum construction, pioneered on a mass-produced level by Audi and Jaguar, is only now starting to make its way into the mainstream, thanks to the upcoming Ford F-150.
With this concept, though, Ford is attempting to show that a mass-produced, lightweight vehicle isn't too far off. This is the Lightweight Concept, and while it may look like a Fusion, it weighs as much as a Fiesta. For reference, the lightest Fusion available to the public is the 3,323-pound, 2.5-liter model with a manual transmission. A manually equipped, 1.6-liter Fiesta, meanwhile, is just 2,537 pounds.
