1999 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY 7.3 POWER STROKE DIESEL

This truck has 117K miles.  Clear IL title.  Two wheel drive with some modifications as you can see in the pictures.  The truck runs excellent like it should.  The alternator & serpentine belt are both new as well as the batteries less than a year old.  The truck looks good in the pictures but is for sure a work truck.  I took a video for a better understanding of the cosmetic condition etc.  Aside from the dings in the body, mechanically this truck is great....starts up every time runs and drives and shifts great.  The truck has a TS Performance chip with these settings Stock, High Idle, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp, 140+ Extreme.  Harley Style front end conversion.  Camo covered seats.  Single stack out the bed of truck.  The truck also has air bags and single leaf set up with the valve stems coming out the rear section of where your plate goes which does function properly.  Also has one single rear traction bar attached to the rear end axle of the truck and the frame with a welded rear DIFF.  Please note the welded diff was a professional job and I had the diff cover off to check etc... but unfortunately around corners the truck will chirp because of this modification of course.  No engine lights or anything wrong at all aside from the CD player is a little finicky some times when pressing buttons to hard and the dome light is removed because the door ajar light stays on at all times.  Brakes work good front tires excellent rear two not so good but all four tires are the same brand etc.  The truck does still have a tow package attached.  This is a great truck with a lot of life left in it... whether your looking for a work truck or a cool hot rod to tinker with there will be no regrets.  Good luck bidding.  Truck is being sold as is.  Test drives for people with cash in hand.  Check out the video below!  Thank you.
A/C Works great blows cold etc.  Owners manual papers still in glove box.

2015 Ford Focus Electric hides in plain sight

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

The styling changes to the 2015 Ford Focus were shown off at the recent Geneva Motor Show, so what the EV version looks like is not that much of a surprise. Still, the 2015 Focus Electric is making its world debut here at the New York Auto Show, so we wanted to know what changes we are looking at compared to both the internal combustion engine version and the earlier EV models.
The exterior visual distinctions between the ICE and EV are minimal, and basically nonexistent from the A-pillar to the rear. Up front, you can see the charge port, of course, but the front fascia has also undergone a bit of an adjustment. The front doesn't have the ICE version's flattened grille and the EV's Ford logo creates a bump in the hood line where none exists on the ICE. The 2015's grille is also different than the one on the 2014 Focus Electric, being slightly smaller (you can see this better if you compare pictures in our new gallery above to these of the 2011 Focus Electric and these of the gas-powered 2015 Focus).
The updated 2015 interior - which we couldn't access ourselves - has things like a new center stack, improved cupholders and is basically identical between the gas and electric models. With the car off, you can't even tell if you're in an EV or ICE, Seema Bardwaj, the US brand manager for the Focus, told AutoblogGreen. The only things that are different, she said, are extra menu screens to show EV powertrain information to the driver.

Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Scroll down to watch a very cool Finn getting his hot rod a little dirty.

Has the auto industry hit peak hybrid?

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Hybrids are known for their great fuel economy and low emissions, but it looks like given current market conditions, only about three percent of new car consumers are willing to pay the premium for them. A new study from IHS/Polk finds that the hybrid market share among overall US auto sales are falling, despite more models with the technology on sale than ever before.
The study examined new car registrations in March from 2009 through 2014. In that time, the auto industry grew from 24 to 47 hybrid models available to consumers, but market share for the powertrain remained almost stagnant in that time. As of 2009, hybrids held 2.4 percent of the market; it fell slightly to 2.3 percent in 2010 and grew to 3.3 percent in 2013. However, 2014 showed a drop back to 3 percent. Overall hybrid sales have been growing since 2010, but they just aren't keeping up with the total auto market.
According to IHS/Polk, this isn't what you would expect to see. Usually, each new model in the market brings along with it a boost in sales. The growth in hybrid models 2009 to 2014 should have shown a larger increase in share for the segment.
