Up for auction is this one owner, classic 1993 Ford diesel with only 102,000 miles.  All paperwork, manuals, and receipts since new.  I am selling for the original female owner.  Title still in her name dated 1993, but signed over, ready to go.

 The Good
-body and paint is a 9 out of 10, has had professional repaint less than 2 years ago
-engine only has 101,800 miles
-no drips or leaks anywhere
-loaded, automatic, hitch, working a/c, cruise, bed liner. tinted windows
-interior only shows minor wear
-two new batteries, fuel pump, fresh oil change and filters, tires good

The Bad
-driver seat has small wear area on side
-horn doesn't work, needs wiper blades
-shift column indicator is off
-small indentation in rear bumper
-antenna mast is taped on, but works
-has intermittant stalling problem when coming to stop, may need fresh gas or tanks drained, truck was not used for past year
-dash is cracked and shows some wear
-one window weatherstripping piece is cracked
-ignition switch a little sloppy
There may be other minor issues not mentioned here, but trying to be honest and cover all faults I found.

The Ugly
-there is no ugly, how often will you find a one owner diesel with only 102,000 miles.  Fly in and drive home anywhere.  Specific questions can be sent via email or to 305-790-4623.

On May-27-13 at 08:40:22 PDT, seller added the following information:

I suppose I should have checked out other Ebay auctions first.  This truck, for the condition and mileage, looks to be priced thousands under what others are going for, for sure what a dealer would be asking.  Check out the off the chart auto check score of 56.

Accident issue was 12 years ago, I believe a car rolled out from a parking lot and hit the driver side, you could never tell it happened.  Owner just wants sold, this truck will last another 20 years and another 200,000 miles if maintained.  Someone will get a great deal or make a good investment.

Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.

249 reasons you want to go to Goodwood Revival

Sat, Sep 16 2023

At its most basic, Goodwood Revival is a long weekend worth of car races featuring cars made before 1970. There are lots of those, though, including some pretty great ones all over the world. But nothing is like Goodwood Revival because it's so much more than "just" vintage car racing.  First, you have to look the part. Attendees are strongly encouraged to dress in period clothing from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, with a strict dress code enforced should you want to enter the paddock. The goal is to create a more authentic atmosphere to match the cars and the meticulously restored and recreated paddocks, grandstands and other facilities of the reborn Goodwood circuit. Now, the dress code was relaxed this year since the Saturday was literally the hottest Sept. 9 on record in that part of England, and the organizers didn't want people dropping dead because they needed to wear an ascot. Some people definitely took the "relaxed" bit too far, but there was still plenty of atmosphere maintained. It really does make a big difference, as those "relaxed" individuals were often akin to seeing a Starbucks cup in a scene from "Game of Thrones."  You can see what I came up with below along with former Autoblog editor Reese Counts and various other Goodwood attendees. Second, there's the parking lot. But I'll let this entire separate post detail that. Third, there's the enormous carnival-like area featuring vintage-looking rides and various boutiques. Both of those are on the outside portion of the track, and honestly, you could easily just spend your entire day in the parking lot and carnival/shopping area without even crossing over into the circuit area. There you'll find more shops, food and drink opportunities, plus obviously, race car paddocks and the track itself.  Fourth, there are airplanes! I heard there are fewer than in the past, but they're there and they're cool. The Goodwood circuit started out life as the perimeter road around the World War II airfield RAF Westhampnett.  Fifth, with all of the above, Goodwood Revival really is fun for the whole family. It isn't just a bunch of old guys sitting around in lawn chairs. There are plenty of women and adorably dressed children, including babies in vintage prams. It's also not an event that's exclusively for the uber rich, even if they are certainly in full force given who has the sort of money needed to go vintage racing.

NHTSA investigating Ford Fiesta for faulty door latches

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation on the 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta because the regulator has received 61 complaints from drivers, including one claim of an injury, about the doors on the subcompacts failing to latch and sometimes even flying open while driving. NHTSA has estimated that the problem could affect as many as 205,000 vehicles.
NHTSA is still gathering further data about the problem, but looking at the complaints so far, both front and rear doors appear to be potentially involved with the alleged failures. Among the reports, there are 12 claiming that the door opened while driving. Several also indicate the "Door Ajar" warning illuminating during this problem. The one purported injury happened when someone attempted to shut the door, and it bounced back.
Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker told Autoblog via email, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the report from NHTSA.
