This truck is in great working condition. I have always fixed everything that came up, with the exception of the air conditioning, which I bypassed the compressor when it went with a shorter belt to get better gas mileage. I am the second owner. I bought the truck from the original owner in Feb., 2008. It had 79,000 miles on it. It now has 88,217 miles, so I put 9,000 miles on it in 6 years. 5,000 of those miles was in 2008 when I took it to Idaho (from Pennsylvania) for an elk hunting trip. I put the tires on it new for that trip, so they have 9,000 miles on them. I always had the oil changed every year at inspection time, even though the truck was generally run about 600 miles a year. It has always been kept in a garage since I have had it.
I recently had all the body work done where rust was coming through. Also new strong arms on the lift hatch on the Reading body. The Reading body is awesome. I used it to store my tools for handyman work. The lumber rack is really sturdy. I also have slept in the cap on overnight trips very comfortably. It is a full 8 foot size bed and a 4x8 sheet of drywall or plywood fits in it easily. It has a tow package on it, including a brake lever inside. There is also a receiver on the front of the truck for a winch or for parking implements or trailers more easily than backing them in. Also included are a pair of Michelin LTX A/S LT 225/75 R16 mounted on wheels, another pair of steel wheels, and the original spare tire mounted on yet another wheel. 2015 Ford F-150 spied in the rain
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Standing as quite a contrast from the spy shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang we saw earlier today, our spies also sent along these pictures of the next-generation F-150 pickup out testing in its (heavily camouflaged) full prototype body. Much of the new truck's design is hidden under the bulky coveralls, but we expect a lot of its new lines to be inspired by the Atlas concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Perhaps the biggest unknown surrounding the new F-150 is what, exactly, its body will be made of. Earlier reports have suggested that lightweight aluminum materials may be used throughout, offering a serious reduction in weight versus previous models. But Ford engineers will need to be careful, though, as they need to keep a tight rein on costs while preserving class-competitive (if not class-leading) towing and payload capacity.
On the powertrain front, the new F-150 will undoubtedly carry on with EcoBoost engines, and we'd bet on a normally aspirated V8 as well. A diesel option hasn't been confirmed, but we wouldn't be surprised to see one some time in the truck's lifecycle. Mum's the word on when the production F-150 will be revealed, but our best guess is that we'll see it at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
