With less than 64,000 original miles and an interior that is immaculate. Exterior is near perfect, all drivetrain is numbers matching and works like new. ZERO Rust with no body repairs and no known defects. Tires are probably original with some checking but have 4 brand new ones to include if reserve is met. You simply will not find another one out there this clean and original! A true antique vehicle in outstanding condition."

YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER TRUCK OUT THERE LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!

                                                                 VINTAGE and CLASSIC ANTIQUE
I know, everyone says that but this one is a true collector's dream! Starting with the fact it is completely original, down to the tires,  spotless, rust free and straight as an arrow. Drivetrain is also original and in perfect running order. The miles are correct, less than 64,000 and the truck has ALWAYS been garaged. The plastic instruction strips are still taped on the dash for the heater etc., just like the day it left the factory. There are a couple very small spots that the original paint has worn through but so minor you will be hard pressed to find them.

I bought this truck last year to tow my 1948 Woody wagon to shows but feel it is too nice to use for this purpose. Even though the truck, with it's heavy duty towing package and beefed up springs etc., is more than capable, I just feel it should go to a true collector to enjoy and possibly take back to pristine condition, which would not be too difficult to do given it's outstanding condition. I installed a trailer brake light switch that can easily be removed if you choose. I only towed 2 classic VW Beetles with it a short distance and it felt like nothing was behind me.

I could go on and on and on about the condition of this truck but will simply say that outside of the AC possibly needing a charge there is absolutely NOTHING I would do to the truck. Everything works as it should with nothing needing any attention that I can see. I changed out the glow plugs and solenoid, so starting is a breeze. The tires are probably original so they are a bit checked but I have 4 brand new ones to go with it if reserve is met. There is a small area on the roof that seems to have had a small spot painted but matches nicely. (Size of a golf ball). Truck has every option available at the time of purchase; Power steering, brakes, windows, locks, cruise control, 4 wheel drive, automatic transmission, full bed liner, custom chrome on front, diamond place side steps, Air conditioning, am/fm stereo cassette, and probably something I am forgetting. Full bench seat that is not power is cloth and in perfect condition.

The truck was purchased new by an elderly farmer who babied it immensely and sold it to his admiring neighbor who did the same. From what I can see, it was never used hard and the fantastic condition speaks to this fact. The former owner's son decided to paint the under carriage to show the truck but this again would be easy to return to normal or leave as it is, since it looks fine. I seriously have nothing else I can tell you about this great truck other than you will not believe the condition. The truck was NEVER used to plow or tow with other than my 2 little local moves.

Please contact me prior to bidding if you have less than 5 feedbacks because this is serious business and I have no time for games. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist in any way possible. I will also sell to our international friends but please have your shipping arrangements made prior to bidding as I will not hold the truck for an endless amount of time waiting for shipping. A reasonable time frame is fine but only after payment in full. Looking for a $500.00 deposit, (Pay Pal okay), full payment will have to be in real manner and not Wells Fargo type scams. Ebay now determines what forms are acceptable so please contact me with any payment questions and we will work it out as I am very easy to do business with. I do warn you that my mind reading skills are very poor, so ask questions as this auction is done with the intention of selling the truck and not playing around.

Good Luck in Bidding on this 1 of a kind truck!!!  I will include pictures but if you have specific areas of concern let me know and I will try and take a picture for you. I have many more pictures.

Naturally, due to the age of the truck, it is being sold as is with a clear Connecticut title and Bill of Sale.

                                                    REMEMBER !!!!!!!!!!   63,000 ORIGINAL MILES!!!!!!!

Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going

Tue, 13 May 2014

Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.

eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history

Sat, 03 May 2014

You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
