1968 Ford F-250 Highboy 4x4, Jasper Green, 390, Edelbrock, 4 Speed Manual, Truck on 2040-cars
Great Falls, Montana, United States
1968 F250 Highboy. 390 with 4 barrel edelbrock, 4 speed manual, fresh Jasper green paint I give the paint a 7/10, 10 being absolutely perfect. new radiator Dual batteries with kill switch. Interior is beautiful with nice molded carpet, reupholstered seat, heater blows hot, speedometer, rpm gauge, cigarette lighter, wipers all work perfectly. Not a single thing on the truck that doesn't work as its supposed too. Black herculined interior underneath the black molded carpet. uncut hard-to-find metal dash that doesn't have the slots for the dash pad. All squeaks and clicks and clunks have been removed. All you hear is the rumble of the 390 when in the cab. 3 gas tanks none behind the seat all underneath the bed tucked away with a manual switch on the floor and electronic in the dash, professionally done and works great. Glasstite topper with new struts and new locks with keys, newer rims, Herculined bed, Rebent the front leaf springs with an extra 1/2 inch for the heavy custom bumper which had a winch but recently broke. 2 Led lights on the custom bumper that are extremely bright and light up wide but not as far. Heavy Duty Warn Hubs. Block heater for the cold Montana winters which it did fine this past one never didn't start. Everything works and runs good. Unfortunately I slipped on the ice and it has a dent in the bed as you can see in the pictures. You can get behind the dent and hammer it out. Little to no rust. Comes with 2 extra uncut complete doors, original chrome front bumper, sliding rear window, new starter and another battery and much more. 390 runs great and has no serious leaks anywhere. Dana 60 rear Dana44 in front. Drum brakes all around with a brake booster but have been gone through, bled and replaced the shoes. no problems with the brakes. No power steering. Definitely takes 2 hands but isn't too hard. My 110 Lb. wife drives it with little to no problem. Definitely no show truck but turns heads and I get a lot of compliments on the old ford. The pictures are pretty close to what the truck looks like and how straight the body is. Complete and ready to go and reliable. It is my current daily driver. Recently have orders to England in June, cant take it to the UK and there's no place for it back home so unfortunately I have to sell it which means NO RESERVE past $3000. Buyer is in charge of shipping Ill drive the truck within 150 miles of great falls to the shipping company if needed. feel free to Email me at ragland411@yahoo.com |

Bill Ford says carsharing helps Ford, EVs need to be clean
Mon, Sep 8 2014To most people, Bill Ford is most famous for being the great-grandson of Henry Ford. But, as the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, Ford has also been leading the company into greener and greener territory. At the morning plenary session for the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Detroit today, Ford discussed a wide variety of topics, including connected cars (of course), plug-in vehicle and how Ford's collaboration with Zipcar came about because of he liked what the Zipcar CEO was excited about getting cars off the road. Given that the conference has a big focus on communication between cars this year, it's no surprise that Ford talked about his company's work on that front. He's looking at the long term, though, and says that despite announcements like the one General Motors made yesterday about Super Cruise, when fully autonomous vehicles get here, it won't be headline news since the ground work is being laid by technologies coming to cars in bits and pieces now. In other words, your adaptive cruise control is getting ready for bigger and better things. "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." – Bill Ford On the zero-emission vehicle front, Ford said that while he's in favor of electric vehicles, "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." He was discussing the emissions reality of coal-powered electricity, and said that, "We've got to have a national discussion about what we want our grid to look like." As for the work that Ford is doing with Zipcar (which is just one of the many automaker carsharing operations out there today), Ford said that he first approached Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith after hearing Griffith talk at a green conference four or five years ago. Griffith was surprised, Ford said, because he had just given a talk about ways to reduce car ownership. "Did you hear my speech? I talked about taking cars off the road," Ford remembers Griffith saying. "Yeah, and what's going to happen without us," Ford responded. Today, the partnership allows Ford to get cars to people that have traditionally been "hard to reach," like college students on campuses. Ford's vehicles are currently available on 250 colleges campuses. Ford then spoke favorably about other challenges to the traditional car ownership model, like Lyft and Relay Rides. "Rather than being frightened by that, we need embrace it and help makes their companies better," he said.
Man has surgery to remove T-Bird turn signal that's been in his arm for 51 years
Fri, Jan 2 2015In 1963, real estate agent Arthur Lampitt was driving a new Ford Thunderbird near East Peoria, Illinois on his way to an appointment when he collided head-on with a truck. A massive accident that was so bad that it was originally reported as a fatal crash, Lampitt suffered a broken hip and that became the focus of doctors' efforts. In fact, no one noticed the fact that the turn-signal stalk had been broken off the steering column and had lodged itself in Lampitt's arm. Fast-forward to around ten years ago, when Lampitt set off a courthouse metal detector because of a "slender object, about the size of a pencil" in his arm. Despite that unnerving discovery, the doctor who examined Lampitt said that since it didn't hurt, he needn't worry about it. This year, however, it did start hurting and the affected arm started to bulge. Lampitt decided to have the issue seen to, and suspected it might have something to do with his 1963 accident. When he looked through photos of the wreck taken by a friend, he noticed the turn-signal stalk of the Thunderbird missing and figured that was the culprit. After a 45-minute outpatient surgery, the surgeon verified it: a slim, slightly bent and corroded, seven-inch metal cylinder with a trumpeted end. The surgeon said a protective pocket had formed around it, which is why it could remain in Lampitt's arm so long, but it was still unusual - "We see all kinds of foreign objects like nails or pellets, but usually not this large." Lampitt, who is expected to make a full recovery, says he might make a keychain out of it, once he's done just holding it. Porsche 911 tops a list of must-have classics, but No. 2 is more of a surprise
Wed, Aug 9 2023No surprise here: In Europe, the Porsche 911 is the most sought-after classic car. Surprise here: Slip-streaming the 911 in the most sought-after chart compiled by the Car & Classic marketplace is the Ford Mustang. Using the Google search engine as a means to pick the winners, as well as the average prices achieved on the “Car and Classic” website, the venerable 911 was tagged 1.45 million times per month according to data stretching back 15 years. The number of 911Â’s sold though the C&C marketplace was 21,141, at an average price of 58,409 pounds, or $74,300. FordÂ’s pony car, still a popular choice for buyers in Europe, placed second on the list with 1.2 million monthly searches. The average sales price over 15 years was 31,107 pounds ($39,570), and the number of older Mustangs sold reached a total of 8,332. Models that also finished among the charted top 10 include the Land Rover Range Rover, the Corvette, the ultra-classic British favorite Jaguar E-Type and the BMW 3 Series. “Whilst a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS could set you back the best part of GBP500,000 ($636,000), there are many more affordable models, which bring the average sale price of a 911 on Car & Classic to GBP58,000 ($73,800) – the third highest average selling price of any make and model on the site,” explained Dale Vinten of Car & Classic. According to the site, the Jaguar fetched the highest average selling price: a whopping 89,000 pounds, or $113,000. But thatÂ’s peanuts compared to a Series 1 Roadster in excellent condition, said Vinten. For that, “you can expect to spend up to GBP250,000 ($318,000), A Series 2 or 3 will cost less, as they are not as desirable, but in decent condition you can expect to pay around GBP40,000-GBP50,000. Even a barn find 1969 E-Type Series 2 Roadster can set you back to the tune of GBP33,000 ($42,000)." Launched in 2005, Car & Classic is among EuropeÂ’s most popular classic car clearinghouses. It also runs a stand-alone auction site.
