1967 Ford F-250 Truck Pickup Camper Special Rare Survivor on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:169000
Location:

Seattle, Washington, United States

Great condition 1967 Ford F-250 Camper Special that I've had for years but don't use much anymore so needs to go to a good home. 1967 was the first year for the more "square" looking body style that continued into the 70's. This year has a few minor style points that make it unique. The pictures show it accurately. Great as work truck, daily driver or restoration project.

Details:
* 169K miles (assuming the odometer has gone around once, which I'm sure it has)
* 2 wheel drive
* Manual steering & brakes
* Granny gear 4-speed
* V-8 engine (I was told the original 352 was replaced with a 390 but it is virtually impossible to tell just looking at the outside of the motor)
* Flowmaster exhaust

The good:
* Very strong runner and ultra dependable
* Runs cool and tight with great oil pressure
* Drives and stops straight, shifts nice and smooth
* NO LEAKS of any kind. I've had this parked in the same spot for 5 years and there is not a single drop on the pavement.
* Very straight and rust free body with exception of the dent at bottom of left rear panel behind the wheel
* Virtually PERFECT interior, including original upholstery, door panels, door handles, window cranks, armrests, NO cracks in dash pad and every switch and accessory works as it should
* ONE key for doors and ignition
* Nice bumpers, trim and emblems
* Good glass and seals
* Dual tanks - floor switch lever works as does the switch for the fuel gauge
* Solid floors (there was some crustiness along the outer edges which has been repaired with POR-15
* Great tires with original rims and classic dog dish hubcaps

The bad (not much, really):
* A couple of small rust through areas in the bed (shown in pics)
* Paint is thin and there is surface rust (according to the VIN tag, this car should be desert beige but it looks WHITE now)

Thanks to the gentleman who pointed out to me that there is a brake booster visible in the pics of the engine compartment and yes, I'd forgotten that this does have power brakes but only manual steering.

Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.

Jerry Seinfeld doesn't love Sarah Jessica Parker's new Country Squire in latest CiCGC

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has finally returned for its fourth season of combining Jerry Seinfeld, a miscellaneous celebrity and a cup of java. But rather than fondly remembering some older piece of automotive machinery, this time around, Seinfeld is utterly unable to keep his hatred of Sarah Jessica Parker's 1976 Ford LTD Country Squire from coming out to hilarious effect.
However, Parker has such a high level of infectious enthusiasm for her recently purchased Country Squire that she seems to win over Seinfeld by the end - at least a little bit. For most of their time together, the two of them drive around Manhattan and the suburbs waxing nostalgic about what things were like when these wagons were ubiquitous.
Since this is actually SJP's car, she and Seinfeld trade off driving duties, and the image above should give you some indication of Seinfeld's reaction to the Sex and the City star behind the wheel. It seems this '70s land yacht might be a little too much for her to handle in New York traffic. Regardless, she is absolutely in love with her Ford.

Ford Ranger-based 7-seat SUV spotted testing

Wed, 29 May 2013

Ford looks to be working on a new SUV version of its global Ranger pickup truck. An early prototype of a seven-passenger SUV based on the Ranger has been spotted testing in Australia, and word has it buyers in the region could expect to see the model in showrooms as soon as 2014, where it could sail under the Endeavour or Everest badges. Ford Australia currently sells the Territory SUV, so there's some chance that this model could be a successor to that throne, as well.
Whatever it's called, the long-roof Ranger will feature a shorter wheelbase and more ground clearance than its pickup twin, giving the machine a bit more off-road functionality. (And here we thought we couldn't want the global Ranger any more than we already do.) While this particular vehicle sports a Territory back half grafted onto a Ranger front end, odds are a public reveal of the finished product could occur as soon as the second half of 2014, making it a 2015 model. Head over to Carsguide.com.au for a closer look.
