I purchased this vehicle from a local dealer with 14,000 miles on it.
It's an 08 F250 XLT single cab 4WD pickup.
The only odd thing about the truck is that it was special ordered with a rubber floor mat instead of carpet. Other than that all of the rest of the features are normal for an XLT.
- 6.4 diesel with 5spd Torqshift automatic transmission with tow/haul mode
- towing package
- camper package
- 4WD with shift on the fly capability
- tailgate step
- integrated trailer brake controller
- upfitter switches
- 3.73 axle ratio
- towing mirrors
- Wet Okole seat covers
An OASIS report I had run when I purchased the truck confirms that it has had no failures to date other than a radiator replacement around 20,000 miles (due to leak).
The only thing on the truck that is not completely stock are the tires, everything else is in its factory configuration. I had a set of 285/75 R18 Toyo Open Country MTs installed around 2,000 miles ago.
The truck is mechanically sound as it is, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I bought it to haul my Jeep around, but I've found that I don't go wheeling as often as I used to and I'm looking to liquidate some of my wheeling stuff. It does have a few minor rock pecks, etc here and there, but none are major. The truck was not used to tow heavy loads and the vast majority of the miles on it are highway miles.
All maintenance has been done with Motorcraft consumables (other than the use of John Deere Plus 50 II engine oil, which meets all of Ford and the API's requirements for the engine). Engine oil was changed every 4,000 miles, and fuel filters were changed with every other oil change.

eBay Find of the Day: Mk1 Ford GT40 with interesting history
Sat, 03 May 2014You might expect a rare Ford GT40 to cross the block at some sort of prestigious auto auction from RM or Gooding, not show up on eBay for over $2 million. However, that's exactly what we have here. The seller claims the car is a late-build Mk1 GT40 from 1969, and it's currently owned by the director of the Hublot watch company in Switzerland.
According to the listing, GT40 #P1108 started life as Mk1 car that was built from factory spares in 1969 and was first sold in 1971. However, the auction is somewhat confusing. According to an image in its gallery, the vehicle was actually built from one of the seven spare Mk3 tubs when production of the iconic racers ended.
This GT40 was never built as a racecar - it lived on the streets its whole life. After assembly finished, it was sent to Germany and was eventually registered for the road. The first owner kept the car until 2005 and sold it with 7,300 miles on the odometer. The current owner bought it in 2012.
Ford Mustang EcoBoost has fake engine soundtrack
Wed, 24 Sep 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost represents a huge change for the Blue Oval as the first pony car in decades to be available with a four-cylinder engine. But a recent tweet (below) from Road & Track raised our curiosity about the new vehicle. Editor Jason Cammisa pulled a fuse while driving the latest 'Stang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, and he found that both the stereo and engine went quiet in the cabin. That indicated the coupe might have some form of artificial engine sound being piped in - a feature not previously heavily reported for the model. Autoblog spoke with Ford engineer Shawn Carney who confirmed that only the turbocharged four-cylinder Mustang comes with this system, called Active Noise Control.

Jim Hackett says metal tariffs costing Ford $1 billion in profits
Wed, Sep 26 2018Ford CEO Jim Hackett divulged in an interview with Bloomberg that the Trump administration's tariffs on metals imported from the European Union, Canada and Mexico have affected the automaker's balance sheet, adding that trade disputes need a quick resolution. "From Ford's perspective, the metals tariffs took about $1 billion in profit from us," Hackett told the outlet. "The irony is we source most of that in the U.S. today anyways. We're in a good place right now, but if it goes on longer there will be more damage." Hackett did not specify what period the $1 billion covered, but a Ford spokesman said the CEO was referring to internal forecasts at Ford for higher tariff-related costs in 2018 and 2019. President Trump in March announced his intention to enact 25 percent tariffs on steel imports and 10 percent on imported aluminum from the three trade zones as a way to protect the U.S. steel industry. The move sent U.S. automakers' stock prices plunging at a time when they were coming off weak monthly sales reports. Separately, President Trump has targeted China with two rounds of tariffs targeting a combined $260 billion worth of imports. China has responded by enacting 25-percent tariffs on U.S. goods including vehicle imports. In the interview, Hackett said that has hurt demand for Lincoln, which has found a growing market for its luxury vehicles in China, and made the price of the Lincoln MKC less attractive to Chinese buyers. The MKC is built at the company's Louisville, Ky. assembly plant. "We've had to move people in that factory to other operations because of that trade problem," he said. It's not clear what those moves entail or how many workers were involved. Autoblog sought comment from a Ford spokeswoman and will update this story if we hear back. Ford last month announced it was scrapping plans to import the Focus Active small crossover to the U.S. from China because of the new 25-percent tariffs on Chinese imports.
