'71 Ford F250 Camper's Special on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
Engine:390
Mileage: 45,102
Make: Ford
Exterior Color: Green and White
Model: F-250
Trim: Chrome
Drive Type: Automatic
My dad owned this classic truck in Alabama for about 30 years. It had a camper shell and carpet in the back when I was a kid. I remember a camping trip in the Smokey Mountains in it. He also effortlessly towed his race car to the drag strip with it. Smooth running 390 (automatic) with Ford electronic ignition (added from a later model). The engine was professionally rebuilt by my dad some years ago. The truck has always been well maintained. I drove it out here about a year ago and I no longer have room in my driveway for it. The following parts I replaced have less than 500 miles on them: water pump, brake booster and master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders. R front brake caliper and hose, front brake pads, alternator, regulator, brand new L front tire (rest of tires are good) Installed tri gauge cluster oil/volts/water, new battery/cables. All instruments on dash work. Everything works but the original radio. I put new door speakers and radio in it (no dash cutting). I plan on keeping the new radio unless buyer compells me otherwise. There are a few cracks in the dash pad, and no carpet (new carpet $145). Has siliding back glass. All rust is surface only. Dad removed auxillary fuel tank to make room for the dual exhaust so the hole in the side of the bed needs to be blocked off. Transmission leaks a little because it doesn't get driven regularly but shifts out perfectly when topped off. Windshield is cracked pretty bad and needs to be replaced. Trim items were replaced to prep for a paint job that never happened. All pieces are available.
Great old classic truck! Serious buyers only. Shipping NOT included

Lincoln Aviator could make a comeback
Tue, Jun 9 2015The idea of Lincoln dropping its alphanumeric scheme in favor of real names was welcomed by fans of the marque and even appeared possible after the rousing reception to the Continental concept. Now, rumors suggest that the next of the luxury brand's nameplates to see a possible revival just might be the Aviator. Don't get your hopes up quite yet, though. The Truth About Cars admits that this tip comes from a second-hand source, but the person reports that Lincoln has a project codenamed Aviator as a model based on the Explorer. There's evidence to give the rumor some shaky support, though. Ford already has the trademarks for the name and AV8R. Also, an Explorer-based vehicle in 2019 is included for the brand's predictions in the recent Car Wars forecast. Autoblog reached out to company spokesperson Sam Locricchio, but he would not speculate about future products. The same source claims to The Truth About Cars that the Blue Oval might not replace the Ford Flex or Lincoln MKT when the current generations come to an end. Also, the next-gen Expedition and Navigator could use 10-speed automatics and follow the F-150 to get aluminum bodies, which is also already rumored. Although, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt until anything more official has arrived. Lincoln spokesperson Stephane Cesareo gave The Truth About Cars no comment on the rumor, but said, "By 2020, we expect to expand the segments that we participate in by adding two new nameplates to the Lincoln brand. We have not provided any indications about the products or their names." Related Video:

Fields 'required' to use private aircraft, could make $5.25M as Ford CEO this year
Thu, 03 Jul 2014Mark Fields' travels on the friendly skies will soon be a relatively personal affair, as the new CEO at Ford will be required to resume air travel via the company's private planes. Fields caught plenty of flak in 2007 for flying on the company's dime to visit his family in Florida. He's since flown commercial.
According to Ford spokesperson Susan Krusel, who spoke to Bloomberg, Fields (pictured above right, with Bill Ford, Jr. at center and Alan Mulally at left) will switch to private travel "for safety and to maximize his availability for company business." In addition to his new travel arrangements, the 53-year-old exec's salary and bonuses have been revealed.
Regulatory filings by Ford revealed that Fields, whose first day in the big chair was July 1, will receive a base salary this year of $1.25 million and he'll be eligible for $3.5 million in bonuses, both of which are lower than Alan Mulally's $2 million salary and $5.88 million in bonuses received last year. That's also lower than General Motors CEO Mary Barra's alleged $1.6-million salary and considerably less than Sergio Marchionne's $3.19-million fixed salary from Fiat. Despite falling short of other CEOs, Fields' new pay still represents a 33-percent increase over his pay as Chief Operating Officer.
