1978 Ford F-150 Ranger
Not sure of actual mileage Engine is a 460 beast with Edelbrock intake and carb (1405 I think) with spacer. Put those on recently. Newly installed refurbished distributor. New cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. 4x4 with 4 low, manual transmission; 4 speed with a granny gear Lifted, short bed, NO RUST! (Okay, well a bit of surface rust in the bed:) Front bumper ready for a winch. 38" tires with 4.88 lockers with Warn locking hubs Sound system hits pretty hard and I have some other wheels I can throw in as well as some other big tires (not pictured). This thing is a monster. Interior: no carpet, crack in the dash, newish seat. Cracked windshield. Engine: strong, sounds good. I've had a bit of trouble with oil seeping up from the dip stick tube. Why they made those simple press in tubes, I'm not sure, but I will be sealing that up. Electrical is fine. The clearance lights don't work, however. I was going to replace them, but haven't gotten around to it. About 50 bucks. 4 wheel drive works great but I've spotted a bit of oil on the front u-joint and suspect there may be a slight leak in the transfer case. Hasn't given me any problems. Small leak and the transfer case is easy enough to access to refill. Speedometer jumps sometimes. I suspect the spedo drive will need to be replaced. Not sure how accurate it is anyhow, because of the larger tires. Pick up If shipping is desired buyer is responsible for making shipping arrangements and all costs involving shipping |

Ford spotted testing new Focus RS at the Nurburgring
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford is expected to be launching a revised version of the Focus ST soon, but the latest snapshots from our spy photographers at the Nürburgring suggest that the Blue Oval is already working on an even more potent example: the new Focus RS.
Though the partially disguised test mule is wearing an ST badge (along with a Dewey sticker that makes us wonder what adventures Huey and Louie are up to and what manner of duck-tail rear spoiler they may be wearing), there are several tell-tale signs that something else is afoot here. There's a larger front air dam, bigger brake calipers, dual exhaust tips (instead of the central exhaust on the ST) and a reshaped wing protruding from the trailing edge of the roof.
That may all be well and fine, but what's under the hood? We don't know yet for sure, but word has it that Ford is preparing to port over the 2.3-liter turbo four offered in the new Mustang, where it packs 305 horsepower and almost as much torque - potentially retuned to produce even more for the top-of-the-line Focus, which could channel it all to the front wheels like the last model or pack an all-wheel drive system. The Global C platform on which the Focus is based does, after all, also underpin AWD models like the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC.
How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
