This is a 1969 F100 which originally had a 360 with automatic, which has been upgraded to a 390 with a manual shift. The transmission has less than 1,000 miles since rebuild, and includes a new clutch kit (clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing).
It has a Sunpro tachometer and temperature gauge. The mileage is to the best of our knowledge because the odometer doesn't have six digits.
Spray on bed liner has served well, but needs to be touched up.
Customized taillights and side mirrors from a Lincoln Continental.
Paint is a four stage Phantom with black showing green in certain lighting conditions.
Dual exhaust from the manifolds all the way back, with one crossover tube.
Two barrel Motorcraft carburetor which has been recently rebuilt.
Steering column has been rebuilt.
You can see the beautiful padded floor mat which has been added this year.
When the mat was added the floor pan was treated with a rust preventative. There was no rust perforation of the pan.
New speakers in the roof.
Tuck and roll dashboard.
Aluminum rims from a Ford Bronco worth $1,000 by themselves.
Custom etched vent windows with skeleton soldier and rear window with Ford emblem.
If you would like more pictures, please ask, I will take them and add them to the listing.
Locking under-bed store compartment.
High security door lock with barrel key, more secure than the original. We still have the original, keyed to the ignition, if you want to re-install it.
This vehicle is listed for sale locally and may be withdrawn before the auction ends.
There is a small dent in the bottom of the driver's door, which could be addressed without touching the custom paint.
Passenger door needs a window regulator.
Fuel gauge does not work.
A little bondo coming loose on hood where the cowls were installed.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Watch Piquet and Mansell bend some sheetmetal in Ford Fusion GP

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

As we told you about before, there were four episodes planned for the Ford Fusion GP campaign in Brazil, and the whole series has now run its course. The Ford ads pit Brazilian Formula One driver Nelson Piquet against English F1 pilot Nigel Mansell driving the new Fusion, the two coming together again after their partnership at the Williams F1 team ended in a miserable state more than 20 years ago.
They're lined up for you below, in reverse chronological order. You should watch number three first, though, as it adds a bit more spice to the NASCAR action in the fourth.

Evo grabs Ford's Fiesta R5 rally car by the scruff

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Evo and host Henry Catchpole were thinking of excuses reasons to borrow the bonkers Ford Fiesta R5 rally car for a day or two, when it struck them: the car is street legal. With access to the R5, some of the world's most beautiful driving roads in the English Lake Country nearby, and a handy video crewing hanging around, the plan seemed to write itself.
Based on the resulting video, it was a good plan. Without spoiling the video for you - something we can't really do in text as the best part is listening to the rally car run - Catchpole finds the Fiesta to be sublimely quick and massively satisfying. Even taking the car for a spin on a pseudo rally stage, after leaving the English countryside, does nothing but add to his assessment of the beastly little Ford. Scroll on below to see for yourself, and enjoy the ride.
