This is a custom 1959 Ford F100 styleside 4x4 pickup. This truck was custom built using the drivetrain from a 1996 Ford Bronco and straight axeled with Ford F150 front axel. The engine is the stock Bronco 5.8 EFI with recent tuneup and new battery, engine runs strong with no issues. The driveline was lifted and is on brand new 37x14.5R15 Toyo mud terrain tires. Custom stainless side mount exhaust, great sound that is not too agressive. This truck is extremely custom both outside and in.

The truck was completely broken down and painted in a matte blue single stage paint and all parts were either cleaned up or replaced. The interior is brand new top to bottom, with new seat, carpet, all new stainless steel screws and bolts top to bottom, headliner and all accessories. The interior has a full custom alpine stereo system with bluetooth hands free calling and streaming, and new alpine speakers all mounted in custom kick panels. The original dash was kept but all the gauges replaced with a custom Dakota digital panel.

The drivetrain is the stock Bronco auto transmission, with custom 4-link rear end. The truck has a full compressor and air tank with airbags in the rear for ride adjustability and towing.

This truck represents hundreds and hundreds of hours of custom work and tens of thousands of dollars in parts. The labor alone to build this truck again would be more than the asking price alone, this is an amazing deal for whoever gets this truck. This is a great custom truck for someone looking for that great classic Ford look with the drivability and reliability of a modern drive train and is ready to drive home. Will consider ALL serious offers, cash talks. I also have a gallon of the custom mixed paint that will come with the truck in case the next owner need to do any touch up work.

What still need to be done:
  • The doors have power locks installed in them, but they need to be adjusted before they will work.
  • The previous owner cut a hole in the bed to fit the fuel tank, it needs to be either patched or covered.
  • The doors have brand new weather stripping, but it was not glued properly and is loose in a few spots.
Also open to trades. What do you have, might be into a diesel, jet skis, cool sports cars, 4x4s, boat or any thin else that has character. Let me know what you have.

Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute

Fri, Jan 9 2015

Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.

Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. Need for Speed movie casts Mustang in hero car role

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Dreamworks Studios, Electronic Arts and Ford Motor Company announced today that the Ford Mustang will play the lead hero car role in the upcoming Need for Speed movie, slated to hit theaters next February. Of course, the Mustang didn't audition for the role like we imagine the film's star, Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame, might have. Rather, Ford and Dreamworks struck a partnership deal that meant the Mustang could skip the casting couch. The deal will also see the film's universe populated with other Ford products (gratuitously so, we're guessing), and the automaker will also help the studio promote the video-game-turned-movie next year.
The hero car in question is a special one-off Mustang created by Ford that is making its debut at the E3 video game trade show as we speak. Powered by a supercharged V8 and apparently based on the Shelby GT500, the car's been modified with a widebody kit, 22-inch wheels, larger air intakes and twin hood nostrils. Ford also provided the film's production with an F-450 truck that will be called "The Beast" in the film's story, and a second Mustang to be used during filming as a camera car.
The Mustang's movie career is really taking off, with news of its Need For Speed casting closely following last week's release of the trailer for Getaway, a movie coming out in August that stars Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and another Shelby GT500. In addition to Aaron Paul and a modified Mustang, the Need For Speed movie also stars Michael Keaton (cop, we're guessing) and Dominic Cooper (villain, we're guessing), and is directed by Scott Waugh, who directed the Navy SEAL film Act of Valor in 2012.
