1979 Ford F-100. This is a good solid truck. It has a built big block 460 with Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4 barrel carb plus a MSD electronic ignition with headers and a nice dual exhaust. In addition to having a flex fan for cooling this truck also has an auxiliary electronic cooling fan just in case. The truck is an automatic and has a custom floor shift. This truck runs good and sounds great. It's been built to cruise and it's never been raced. It has always been adult driven and well maintained.  The odometer reads 79,794 but the prior owner said the engine and transmission has less than 5,000 miles on them.  It is a rear wheel drive (not a 4x4).  I have many people coming out next weekend with intent to purchase.  So this listing will be posted but if payment is not received by the weekend, first person with the money gets the truck.

The truck gets a lot of attention, mostly due to the custom paint. It's a beautiful "House of Kolor" shade of orange called Sunset Orange Metallic. The paint was done several years ago but still looks great. It has some very fine lavender pearl metallic chips that really make the color pop in the sunlight. It is a nicely done, modern, base coat clear coat paint job that will look great for many more years. The exterior chrome is in good condition. It has custom side mirrors, bed rails, spray in bed liner, and a large low-profile diamond plate tool box. The custom wheels are in great condition, as are the tires, and they accent the truck nicely.

The interior of the truck is as nice as the rest of it. The original seats have been replaced with a more comfortable, modern seat. It is a soft and supple tan leather seat with a fold down console. The truck has a modern JVC CD/MP3 player and upgraded speakers in the doors. The dash looks great and has a set of more-accurate-than-stock, aftermarket gauges for temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The heater works great. This truck did not originally have AC, but there are affordable kits available if that is something you feel you would need to do.

This truck really doesn't need anything. It has sufficient power to pull a trailer or a boat with ease. I would feel confident driving this truck anywhere. It is very reliable as well as being very fun to cruise around in. We don't have to sell it but we would like to thin out our pack of cars and make a little room in the driveway since we recently bought a new truck, we decided we could let this one go. We are asking $9900 for the truck.   The truck is not perfect.  It is over 30 years old, so do not expect a trailer queen.  It is however solid, sound, and a great price for a beautiful and dependable truck!  It was my daily driver for the last year.

Ford builds one-off 50th anniversary Mustang Convertible for charity

Thu, 08 May 2014

At the New York Auto Show this year, Ford revealed a special-edition Mustang to honor the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples will be made, all of them fixed-roof coupes. But the Blue Oval automaker has just announced that it's also building a single 50 Years edition convertible that it will raffled off for charity.
The first production example of the new Mustang Convertible to roll off the line this fall, this one-off will pack many of the features on the 50 Years coupe, including its white paintjob, chrome trim, aluminum dashboard, two-tone upholstery, contrast stitching, special 19-inch wheels and special-edition badging throughout.
This unique cabrio will also be fitted with a special performance pack including Pirelli PZero rubber, Brembo brakes and a limited-slip differential to help get the 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque from the 5.0-liter V8 through the six-speed manual transmission and down to the road. It'll also feature a serial plaque with the number 0001 of 0001 and chairman Bill Ford's signature.

John Hennessey's personal 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT hits 195 mph

Wed, Feb 11 2015

Dressed in a coat of menacing black paint, the 2015 Hennessey Performance HPE700 Supercharged Ford Mustang GT definitely looks like one mean muscle machine. The 717-horsepower 'Stang proved that it can back up that aggressive appearance recently when company founder John Hennessey took his personal example to see just how fast it would go. The result down the 1.1-mile straight at the Continental Tires Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, was over 195 miles per hour. The Mustang is nothing but a black blur and wall of supercharger wail as it buzzes by the camera at top speed. Despite the strong result, Hennessey doesn't seem done with the 'Stang yet. The car still seems to be pulling when it hits the rev limiter, and there's some straight track left ahead. After getting out, John Hennessey immediately says he thinks 200 mph is possible. The heart of the HPE700 is a 2.9-liter Roots-Type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. That's a pretty massive blower, especially when considering the 2.4-liter unit on the Hellcat V8. The engine also gets upgrades like improved injectors, a new fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and recalibrated management. The company claims the upgraded Mustang can hit 60 in around 3.6 seconds and do the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. Prices for the package start at $59,500, but this one would would ring up for $65,874. Hennessey Performance is limiting production to 500 of them for the 2015 model year. 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Mustang Rockets to 195.2 mph John Hennessey takes his personal Mustang GT on a Texas road trip Uvalde, Texas-Everything is bigger in Texas, especially when it comes to automotive performance. Texas also lays claim to the highest posted speed limit in America at 85 mph. Enter the team from Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) who are located just west of Houston. John Hennessey and his merry band of performance car builders like to go fast, so much so that they have their own 1/4 mile dragstrip next to their workshop. Recently, the Hennessey team wanted to test their 717 horsepower HPE700 Supercharged Mustang development car (John's personal car and occasional daily driver) beyond the 130+ mph speeds that they have seen on the dragstrip. "Thankfully, we had recently received an invitation from the guys at the Continental Tires proving grounds in Uvalde to come over and do some testing on their 8.0 mile high speed oval", said Hennessey.

2015 Ford F-150 shaves 700 pounds, adds 2.7-liter EcoBoost [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Ford F-150 is one of the best selling vehicles on the planet. Considering that, one can imagine that when it comes time for a redesign, there are hardly any half measures. For its lucky thirteenth generation, Ford has gone all-in on the single most important vehicle in its portfolio, redesigning it from the ground up.
The big news is the F-150's new, lightweight, Atlas-inspired body. Ninety-three percent of that new body is made from a sort of aluminum alloy not unlike what the US military uses in its M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees, and it accounts for up to 70 percent of the F-150's 700-pound weight reduction. As a side benefit, the aluminum body should prove more resistant to dents and dings. Built Ford tough, indeed.
If you're wondering where the other 30 percent of that 700-pound weight loss went, 8.5 percent (60 pounds) came from the increased use of high-strength steel (up from 23 percent to 77 percent) in its ladder-box frame. Ford claims this steel is comparable to some of the heavy duty pickups used by its competitors, with a PSI rating of 70,000.
