LAST BIDDER WILL OWN THIS AWSOME FORD F100

"NO RESERVE"

I purchased this cool little truck a couple of months ago from a friend in North Carolina. He gave me such a good price I was able to spend a little time and money on it and now its time for someone to take over and finish her out to your taste and personality. The previous owner started the project with the removal of the original strait six motor and 3sp trans and replaced it with a recently freshened 351W and a 5 speed trans. He installed a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and had a pretty good start on having a nice little street truck. This is where he ran out of time and motivation and since the truck was up and running he put it away for later. So now I come into the picture and after some negotiation I purchased the truck. The first thing I did is drive it and put it on the lift for a through inspection. The truck was in good shape and the 351W ran fine which is fitted with a Weiand intake, Summit racing 750cfm carb and headers. The T-5 trans worked well and the paint and body was ok with some chips and nicks but overall nice. So I spent most of my time and money on the interior, suspension, brakes, exhaust and just general clean-up. A list of new parts and general service items are listed below and I have receipts for all.

  • fuel tank and lines
  • 3 core Champion aluminum radiator and flex fan
  • heater core
  • 2.5 inch dual exhaust from headers to 3 inch chrome tips
  • dist cap, rotor, points and condensor
  • belt and hoses
  • thermostat and housing
  • valve cover gaskets
  • battery and hold down
  • oil, filter, and air filter
  • molded carpet, dash pad, arm rests, door weather strips, headliner and seal plates
  • checked front suspension and lubed
  • new front brakes and wheel cylinders (rear almost new)
  • shifter boot

So now we get to what still needs to be done to make this cool little truck better with the help of the new owner. In my inspection of the underside I found some repairs in the floor pans and some much needed repairs still needed to the cab towers where the cab bolts to the frame. I have bought the replacement cab towers for the new owner to install and go with the truck. All other cab and bed mounts are in good condition. All the front suspension is in good shape with a little play in the manual steering box but my friend had already purchased a used bendix power steering unit and a new king pin replacement kit that go with the truck along with the original body trim and the original radiator. All other areas of the chassis, body, frame and suspension look to be in good shape and very road worthy. I have driven the truck to work and back for a couple of days and it runs and drives the way it should. All the lights and turn signals work properly. The gauges are aftermarket for oil pressure, water temp and rpm's. The oil pressure at start up is 50psi and stays between 25psi and 35psi while driving. The temp has never gone above 190 because of the addition of the new radiator and flex fan. The tires are BFG's and have less than 500 miles on them. I have enjoyed working on this truck and welcome any and all questions you have and can provide many more pictures if needed. I offer this vehicle with no warranties written or implied but if you feel that I have deceived you in any way in this description I will refund your deposit minus any fuel cost if I deliver and with no negative feedback. The pictures should tell the story and again, ask questions. I can deliver the truck anywhere in the lower 48 for $1.25 per loaded mile on an open trailer or $1.50 per loaded mile for enclosed. I have the truck for sale locally and will listen to any fair offers or trades and reserve the right to end the No Reserve auction at any time so don't wait til the last minute to bid.

Happy bidding

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.

Ford CEO Jim Hackett reviewing the future of technology, Lincoln, overseas markets

Mon, Jul 31 2017

By Paul Lienert and Joseph White Ford Chief Executive Jim Hackett is reviewing the automaker's operations in India and other markets, as well as Ford's future product programs including plans to build a self-driving commercial vehicle in 2021. Hackett, who took over as CEO in May, has told investors he is working on a 100-day review of Ford's operations but has so far provided few details of the process, except to indicate that it is looking at the automakers' luxury vehicle strategy, the future of its small vehicles and investments in emerging markets. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told Reuters in an interview that the review covers a range of issues, including Ford's strategy for India. "We have a lot of work to do (as) we address issues of how to fix India," Shanks said. "Everything is on the table." General Motors in May said it would stop selling cars in India but continue to produce vehicles there for export. Shanks said no decisions have been made and noted that Ford has a larger business in India than GM did. "We are very cognizant that will be the third-largest market in the world," he said. "Some big decisions will be made," Shanks said, but he cautioned Ford may not disclose all those decisions at the end of the 100-day review. Hackett is addressing challenges that have contributed to a nearly 8 percent decline in Ford's share price this year. The review of the Lincoln luxury brand includes whether current plans will meet former CEO Mark Fields' ambitious targets for growth and revenue, people familiar with the process said. Ford has set a target of putting a self-driving shuttle into commercial ride-sharing fleets by 2021. Hackett is reviewing the investment and timing for that project, the sources said. Hackett also assessing whether to reduce and consolidate production of models such as the Fiesta subcompact and two midsized sedans that are built in multiple locations around the world, but are experiencing slowing demand. One proposal would shift production of the next-generation Mondeo midsized sedan from Europe to Mexico, where it would share an assembly line with its sibling, the Ford Fusion, avoiding the cost of retooling two plants. Shortly after he took charge, Hackett approved a proposal to shift production of the next-generation Focus for North America from Mexico to China, saving the company an estimated $500 million by consolidating two factories into one.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost

Fri, 09 May 2014

I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.
