1956 Ford F100
Short Bed Sometimes you get the chance to find some well preserved trucks. And sometimes you get to find some that are just amazing. This is the amazing one. So I thought I would test the waters and see if there was anyone interested in it before I start in on it. The truck from what I have learned belonged to a gentlemen in California who owned an old oil business back in the day. He ordered it with this custom color for his business. The truck was in the CA desert its entirety and was built in the San Jose plant. The vin plate has the letters "SS" stamped in the color section. That means special order from the factory. The truck is almost all original. It has never been painted and does not have any cancer. In fact, it is very straight except a little fender bender that any collision shop with the right tools could help pull out. It still has the spare tire under the bed and the beds strips are usable if you wanted to keep that original patina look that is very popular. The interior is in good shape for it's age and the dash is uncut... The chassis has not been chopped and it is all original. The only thing that was changed recently by an excited owner that I bought it from was the motor. It came with a 223, but now has a good running 390 Engine and 4 speed trans. The motor runs good and the brakes work as well. He left the linkage on the steering column in case you want to go backwards. The motor seems to have lots of power. And the install was clean. Not hacked up. If you have any questions please call me or send me an email. Jason 480-619-8353 I have owned probably 30 of these trucks and have loved them all but one. :) Thanks for looking, The truck is currently in Arizona. If you are a zero bidder, please contact me before bidding. I will cancel your bids if you don't qualify yourself upfront. And although this is a running driving truck, I can't guarantee it will drive across the country or even 50 miles across town. So please make arrangements to have it shipped if you buy it. I also have tried to describe the truck to the best of my ability. I strongly recommend that you call or email me with your questions so that you are not confused at what you are getting. There is NO WARRANTY expressed or implied. Buyer buys it AS IS. |

Watch how Ken Block spent his weekend in Barbados
Thu, 22 May 2014Regardless of what you think of his skill as a racer, Ken Block is an expert showman. At this point, he has a career of showing up around the world to do vehicular stunts, and he's still able to go racing as well. It's a pretty sweet niche to carve out. Recently, Block was in Barbados to participate in Top Gear Live and the first event of the Global Rallycross Championship season, and Ford Racing produced a short video to show off his exploits.
It looked like a great show. Block got to race Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes-Benz Formula One car and had a very weird crash during a Rallycross race that put his Ford Fiesta on its roof. Top Gear also released an extended look at Block and Hamilton's spectacle with the two of them expertly sliding around. Scroll down to watch the videos and get a taste of Block's tropical racing adventure.
2016 Ford Explorer revealed with new 2.3-liter EcoBoost
Wed, 19 Nov 2014
A 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder takes over where the old 2.0 left off, making 270 hp and 300 lb-ft.
Right now, around 23 percent of all Ford vehicles sold in the United States is a utility vehicle. By 2020, Ford expects that figure to increase all the way to 29 percent. Put simply, SUVs and crossovers are very big business at Ford. So, when it comes time to update the Explorer, Ford's original sport utility vehicle, you can be sure that a whole heck of a lot of effort goes into the process.
Ford builds USAF Thunderbirds Edition Mustang for charity
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Each year since 2008, Ford has created a one-off Mustang to celebrate military aviation, and the cars have been auctioned off at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Gathering of Eagles charity event to raise money to inspire the next generation of aviators. This year's charity car is the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, which also helps celebrate 60 years of Thunderbirds air show excellence.
Of all the EAA charity cars, this Thunderbirds Edition is the most in depth. Painted to match the F-16 Tomcat fighter jets used by Thunderbirds, this Mustang also gets a widebody kit and 22-inch Forgiato wheels to go with the cockpit's Recaro bucket seats, rear-seat delete and modified navigation screen and gauge cluster. Even the Mustang's projector puddle lights have been changed to show an aircraft silhouette - rather than the Mustang's galloping horse logo - when the doors are open.
Themes for previous EAA charity cars include the Blue Angels, SR-71 Blackbird and the Red Tails as well as the F-22 Raptor-inspired AV8R and AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" models. Scroll down for the press release for the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, and be sure to check out our galleries for all six aviation-themed Mustangs.
