1976 Ford F100 XLT - Excellent unrestored original condition with 44587 original miles!! The mileage was confirmed by the previous owner and was confirmed on the title that he signed.
You will have a very hard time finding another truck with these low miles and in this condition. There is NO rust or body damage. It was stored inside all of it's life and it shows. It drives and handles very well at 70 mph. 1. 302 - does not smoke, starts and runs very well 2. New 500 cfm Holley carb with a manual choke. The original carb will be included. 3. All of the factory emission items are on the engine and work. No modifications or removal of any factory installed items has been done. 4. Factory AC - new compressor - cools very well 5. Automatic transmission - shifts and operates properly 6. Power disc front brakes 7. New P235 75 R15 Goodyear Wrangler tires - less than 100 miles 8. Interior looks new - seats and carpet - no staining or fading - there is 1 small spot on the driver side of the vinyl on the seat. The chrome trim on the seat back is broken - piece is included - see pictures 9. retractable seat belts work properly 10. Steering wheel is not cracked. 11. All gauges, dash lights, and horn work properly 12. All exterior lights work properly 13. The paint shines very well and looks very nice for a truck that has not been restored. See pictures of areas noted below. A. There was a camper top on this truck and there are a couple of scratches and chips on the bed caps. B. There are 2 VERY small dents on the hood - about the size of your small finger. C. There is an area on the RH front of the top that appears to have been painted in the past. 14. Chrome trim is in very good condition. - 1 very small dent in the RH tailgate chrome trim 15. AM/FM 8 track tape player. The speaker volume is low and they could be replaced. I have not tried the 8 track. 16. Headliner and visors are not torn or sagging. 17. Bed area is in very good condition with an older style bed mat and tailgate protector 18. Tailgate is not bent or damaged 19. Rear step bumper - no dents 20. Chrome front bumper with bumperettes - no dents or flaking chrome 21. Grill is in excellent condition with no dents 22. Door panels, arm rests and pockets are in perfect condition with no cracks, rips, tears, or sagging. 23. All glass is good, no chips in the windshield, the door and vent windows open and close properly 24. All weatherstripping is in like new condition. The glass run channels, felts, vent window seals, front and rear glass, and door seals are not cracked or weathered. This is a very nice driver or would be a very easy restoration. It was the best Ford pickup you could buy in 1976. I have done my best to describe the truck as I see it. Al funds will clear the bank before the truck and title are released. Hennessey completes first VelociRaptor SUV conversion [w/video]
Mon, 20 May 2013Start with a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as your base vehicle for modification, and chances are high that you'll end up with something pretty cool. Now, have those modifications done by professional lunatics Hennessey Performance, make the project turning the pickup into an ultra-long SUV, and the result stands a real chance of being a total kick in the ass. Let us present the Hennessey VelociRaptor then, in all of its awesomeness.
Hennessey has taken care in grafting a "Expedition style" rear cabin onto the Raptor, complete with an optional third row. The pictures we have show a cabin that's up to the fit and finish standards of the original Ford truck, too. The cab added over the bed also makes room for a massive load space out back, accessible via split out-folding doors and long enough for a person to lay down in (see video).
Mechanically, the truck-turned-SUV sticks with Ford's stock 6.2-liter V8, rated at 411 horsepower, or can be had with a supercharger and some 600 hp. Hennessey says the stock-motor VelociRaptor will run from 0-60 miles per hour in 7.5 seconds, while the hi-po version takes just 5.9 seconds. The SUV does take some of the off-road ability away from the Raptor, with the company saying it hasn't yet had the opportunity to test its capabilities. On-roading and "moderate off-road duties" are the current prescription.
Lincoln MKC recalled because start button located too close to touchscreen [UPDATE]
Wed, Dec 31 2014UPDATE: Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker responded to our questions and let us know that the fix for the push-button start on the 2015 MKC has the switch moved to the top of the of the column of gear shift buttons instead of the bottom. Owners should be notified about both campaigns "toward the end of February." After massive campaigns from General Motors and to fix Takata airbag inflators, 2014 will undoubtedly go down as The Year Of The Recall. And with little time to spare, Ford is getting in just under the wire to adding two more to its yearly total. The larger of the campaigns is actually one of the most bizarre campaigns we've heard of all year. Lincoln is recalling 13,574 units of its 2015 MKC compact crossover in North America to move the location of the push-button ignition switch on the dashboard. According to the automaker's announcement: "Due to the switch's close proximity to other controls, occupants are inadvertently shutting off the engine while driving." The button is located near the bottom of the touchscreen, which can apparently make it possible to hit by mistake. Back when Autoblog first drove the new MKC in June, we came away very impressed, but noted: "... we're still not completely sold on the aforementioned pushbutton transmission selector ... it still seems somewhat gimmicky and it can't be operated by feel alone, as you might when shifting a traditional console-mounted lever from Park to Drive." According to Lincoln, there have been no reported accidents or injuries stemming from this button misapplication. Of the affected vehicles, there are 11,144 in the US, 2,033 in Canada and 397 in Mexico. To fix the problem, dealers are moving the button to a different location and reprogramming the powertrain control module. According to Automotive News, models built since September already have a different layout. The change was reportedly done to match the rest of the Lincoln lineup. The second recall covers 12,205 units of the 2014 Ford Escape (2015 model year pictured below) and 2015 Lincoln MKC in North America because of a problem with nickel plating on the fuel pump. The issue can cause the pump to seize, which can cause the crossovers not to start or stall while driving. The automaker is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this fault. Dealers are replacing the fuel deliver module to fix the situation. Of the affected vehicles, there are 9,038 in the US, 3,074 in Canada and 93 in Mexico.
Ford recalling 390,000 cars over door latch woes
Fri, Apr 24 2015Ford is recalling certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to faulty door latches, marking the latest in what seems to be a recurring issue for the Blue Oval. This is the third door latch recall from Ford in 2015, following a 213,000-unit recall in March and a 205,000-unit recall in January. This one, however, is significantly larger. A total of 390,000 units are affected, including Fusions and MKZs from model years 2013 and 2014, as well as Fiestas from model years 2012 to 2014. A "broken pawl spring tab" is the culprit, potentially keeping doors from latching shut. According to Ford, even if the door does shut, it could come open again without warning. The affected Fiestas were built between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 at the Cuautitlan, Mexico factory. The Fusion and MKZ siblings, meanwhile, were screwed together at Hermosillo Assembly in Mexico between July 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. Ford is aware of three minor reports of door malfunctions. In two cases, the door bounced back open, quite literally hitting drivers on their way out. In the third case, a door swung open of its own accord while a driver was attempting to park, hitting another vehicle. The door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck an adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Feb.
