1973 73 Ford F-100 Ranger 4 Wheel Drive 4x4 Longbed Arizona Rust Free Truck on 2040-cars
Prescott Valley, Arizona, United States
1973 F-100 Ranger 4 wheel drive truck. Originally purchased in Berkley CA. has spent most of its life in AZ. I bought this truck with the intent of returning it to a nice driver since I was familiar with its past. I knew one of its previous owners. I just have too many trucks and projects so its got to go. The original engine was a 360. Previous owner claims to have put a 390 crank and rods in it approx. 35,000 miles ago. I cannot verify this and have no idea what other work may have been done at that time. The 2bbl intake was changed to iron 4bbl intake. I recently put an Edelbrock carb on it that was rebuilt about a year ago and used on one of my Chevys. It has been jetted for this elevation and may retuning else where. It has an automatic transmission that shifts well. NP 205 transfer case that shifts well also. High pinion Dana 44 front axle with power drum brakes and power steering. Rear is a 9" with Nodular third member and Trac Loc. Ratio is 3:50. I just installed good used set of chrome spoke wheels and 33" tires. I believe the camper shell and extra fuel tank were dealer installed items when purchased new. Truck also has fact A/C which actually works. I think it needs charged some, its not real cold. A Crane Fireball electronic ignition was also installed by previous owner. Since my purchase I have replaced the brake master cyl. ign. switch carburetor and tires and wheels. All glass is good. Body is mostly straight except where pictured. Body is completely rust free as far as I can tell. No rust found. Original paint is poor from sitting under a tree. Inside of the bed is exceptional for an old pickup with only a few dents and surface rust. Interior is fair. Drivers side of the seat is damaged. Dash pad has some cracks but has a cover on it. Door panels aren't too bad but has a few screws hold them on instead of clips. All gauges seem to work except for oil pressure but an after market gauge has been installed. Engine runs well and has decent power. I haven't noticed any smoke. Runs cool, 60-80psi oil pressure. Great restoration or good driver. I believe the 88779 miles to be correct and original but cannot verify that. Note: I have the missing windshield trim and is included.

Ford Transit is America's new best-selling van
Tue, Jan 6 2015The Ford Motor Company's sales in December ticked up 1.2 percent in the US, and the automaker was down 0.5 percent for 2014. But the Blue Oval looks like it might have a real winner on its hands when it comes to its new Transit van. The recently introduced line nearly doubled its numbers during the month by delivering 10,030 units for an annual total of 20,488 examples sold. It also gave the fullsize model the title of America's bestselling van for December. Those 10,000 sales put the Transit head and shoulders above all of its competitors in the crowded commercial van market. Second place went to the Chevrolet Express with 5,611 sales in December, and the ancient Ford E-Series was third with 5,256 moved. The rest of the segment was somewhat lower, with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter at 3,288 units for the month, Ram ProMaster at 3,036, GMC Savana with 1,725 and Nissan NV at 1,554. December also marked the second month in a row for the Transit to beat out the E-Series in sales. However, its predecessor still won overall for the year with 103,263 units moved in 2014, but it enjoyed a full calendar year of sales. According to Ford spokesperson Mike Levine, the smaller Transit Connect had its best sales month ever for December too, and the automaker has been among the sales leaders in the van segment for the last 36 years. "Clearly, sales show we're best at meeting our customers' needs," said Levine to Autoblog, who touted the model's results on Twitter and cited the Transit's numerous configurations as its biggest selling point. Ford's latest van has other plusses, too, say analysts. "The one thing the Transit has going for it is a low base price relative to the competition. Compare the base price of the Sprinter to the Transit and it is hands-down a Transit win," said Dave Sullivan, auto industry analyst at AutoPacific, to Autoblog. Purely by model name, the Transit was also the bestselling van in November, with 4,851 deliveries. However, the Chevy Express had 4,478 sales, plus 716 more from the GMC Savana. Since these two are the same model beneath the skin, as a platform, they arguably took the title for that month. With a new year already here, the Transit has a new challenge to face. "2015 will be the year that the Transit has to leave the nest, because E-Series inventories will be close to zero and Transit will have to carry all the weight," said Sullivan.
Ford nets $5.7B in 2012, $1.6B in fourth quarter
Tue, 29 Jan 2013Ford brought in $5.7 billion in net income during 2012, which is around $307 million less than one year prior. Even so, the automaker closed out 2012 with the highest pre-tax profit for a single quarter in nearly 10 years, earning $1.7 billion in the fourth quarter thanks largely to a higher-than-average truck mix in the US. That's a jump of $577 million over 2011. Likewise, that translated into fourth quarter income of $1.6 billion. All told, Ford set a full-year pre-tax profit record in 2012. But that doesn't necessarily mean everything is rosy in the land of the Blue Oval.
Like every other manufacturer, 2012 saw Ford get hammered in the European Union, where a deep economic recession continues to drive down consumer confidence. The automaker lost more than $700 million in Europe, and saw full revenue of $26.6 billion in 2012. That's a decline of $7.2 billion compared to last yea. Ford says the market for new vehicles in Europe has contracted to 13.5 million units, the lowest number in 17 years. You can read the full press release below for more information.
Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator
Wed, Nov 8 2017General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
