  • Cherry Bomb was assembled at the Ford San Jose, CA Assembly Plant.
  • Although her odometer shows 51,208 miles, I honestly DO NOT know her actual milage, or how many times she has rolled over.
  • She starts & runs, but she DOES NOT drive well enough to be considered a daily driver.
  • The reason why I say that is because she stalls shifting in-between gears, & she NEEDS brake work done on her as well.
  • Also, her dash lights DO NOT work.
  • With that said, her looks; the body, paint, & interior is all original, & in pretty damn good shape.

  • I bought her in Tacoma, WA while I was stationed at Naval Base Kitsap.
  • Once my enlistment was over I decided to just keep her up there for my friend to drive till he got out of the Navy.
  • He ended up buying a truck for himself before he went on his final deployment on the Stennis, so I had her shipped from Washington to my home state of Kansas.
  • While I've been attending the University of Kansas here in Lawrence, she has just been sitting in my Mother's backyard in Kansas City, which has been for about two & a half years.
  • The plan was to restore her, but I just haven't had the time with school & work.
  • Therefore, & as much as I do not want to, I need to bid Cherry Bomb away on eBay.

  • My name is Richard, & you can reach me at (913) 626-1046 if you just wanna skip the bidding process & make an offer to me.
  • I must note that I WILL NOT respond to text messages, so CALL ME & leave me a voicemail.
  • I will ONLY accept a bank to bank transfer via PayPal as a payment option.
  • It will be the buyer's responsibility to ship or pickup Cherry Bomb.
  • If the buyer decides to ship her, then I have a great guy that can do it. In fact, I had him ship Cherry Bomb from Washington to Kansas.

  • Lastly, her name is Cherry Bomb because of her sexy shade of cherry red, obviously, & also because of the mean grumble she has from the exhaust I had installed on her.

Ford dealers offered discounts on tools to fix aluminum

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With the introduction of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 (and the likely use of aluminum in future Ford products), Ford is looking to help its dealerships reduce costs related to repairing this more labor-intensive material. Automotive News is reporting that Ford dealers with body shops will require an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in equipment and training to work on aluminum, and to help alleviate the financial burden of the new F-150, Ford has announced a special 20-percent discount on this equipment.
Dealers will be able to save up to $10,000 on tools such as welders, air-filtration systems and rivet guns and to create aluminum-specific work stations. The new F-150 goes on sale in the fourth quarter, and dealers have until October 31 to take advantage of this deal, according to the report.

Airbag recall widens to include BMW, Chrysler, Ford and Toyota

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a roll in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time.
BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall.
Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.
