Up for auction here is a very clean original 1971 Ford F-100 Sport Custom. I bought the truck a year and a half ago with a bad motor in it and has been my weekend project. The truck originally had a 390 V8 and C6 trans. The 390 dropped a rod so it was not rebuildable. It is now equipped with a 302 and a New C4 trans with a nice mild shift kit. Power steering and power disc brakes. I did a full tear down and inspected everything and it has new comp cam and lifters, timing chain, oil pump, and bearings. The cylinders looked great. It was not a full rebuild. Still the original rings and heads. I knew the history of this motor. It was pulled from an 82 mustang GT, and ran quite well when pulled. But it runs awesome now great power and runs this truck down the road very nice. Has a 600 four barrel Holley carb, edelbrock performer intake, ford racing shorty headers, electronic ignition, all new full length flowmaster dual exhaust. All new hoses, belts, water pump, fuel pump, rebuilt radiator. As I said above it also has a rebuilt C4 auto trans with mild shift kit, new u joints as well. I also converted the fron suspension over to disc brakes, replaced the radius arm bushing as well at the time. Truck drives down the road smooth true and slight. Just put new tires on it on the last 1000 miles too. All of this work has no more than 3000 miles on it. The truck it self has just 100K on it. The odometer reading when I bought it was just 97k. And based on the condition I truly believe that is actual miles. It bares 90% of the original paint, its thin on the hood and top but I get two thumbs up every where I drive it. I had the seat reupholstered in orignal style, as well as replaced the rubber floor mat, it all shows very well. It also has a rare factory AM-FM radio that works great. As you can see it has cab lights, which are factory, uncommon for a F-100 obvesely a special order truck when it was new. It originated from the Seattle Wa area when new, but I bought it here locally. It does have some rust in the passenger floor area, but other than that, anything else is just surface. The windshield is also cracked but not in the line of sight. Its a tight solid truck. Bed is super straight and has ben line-xed. Its never been abused. Everything works lights, horn, lighter etc.... I really hate to see it go after all the time I have spent on it, but I have just recently moved and don't have the place to store it. And I have other projects that I need the space for. Its currently parked at a friends house now, so when I want to drive it I have to rotate vehicles around, not to convient. This truck is ready to go and be your daily driver I ve done everything I could to make it 100% reliable. Ive taken it on three 300 mile round trip road trips and it runs like a champ. Its just time for someone else to enjoy it. So please bid with confidence, its hard to remember everything, so please feel free to ask. Thanks ands happy bidding.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost
Fri, 09 May 2014I'll be honest; when Ford first unveiled its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, I was skeptical. Past attempts at building turbocharged American cars were almost universally awful, I reasoned, so why would Ford's latest effort be any different? This may seem foolish today, considering the success that the growing EcoBoost range has achieved - particularly the 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter mills. Yet I once again found myself questioning Ford.
It's the makeup of the 1.0-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder slotted into the compact engine bay of this Fiesta that has a way of breeding doubt. Three-cylinder engines remain an extreme rarity in the US. What's more, they earned a less-than-desirable reputation for applications in the 1980s and 1990s, and my trepidation about this latest three-pot as a result.
As I found out, though, history is a poor informant of modern technology. The thrust available in other cars with the EcoBoost badge on the back has not gone missing here; something the International Engine of the Year committee has lauded. That august body named the 1.0-liter Ecoboost the best engine of 2012 and 2013. After a week of driving, it didn't take long for my fear of threes to get turned into something like that line of thinking.
NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
