1970 Sport Custom, 302 V8, C-6 Transmission, 9" Rear End One Of 3,500 Built Orig on 2040-cars
Big Sandy, Texas, United States
This is an original unrestored truck that has never been repainted or had body work done to it. Truck has some "patina" or wear that has come from years of use. Truck comes from a Texas family whose father purchased the truck new. He then passed it down to his two boys that each took a turn driving it.. It has about 144,000 miles and the engine and transmission were rebuilt and estimate about 10,000 miles on them. Truck has a little Texas rust on it from water being trapped in a few of the typical spots. It has a hole when you open the passenger door. There are some pockets at the back of the cab that have some rust in the bottom of them. All fluids have been recently changed, brakes all new, A/c redone and blows cold. Needs a windshield....shop broke one and then got the wrong seal. After three trips and no windshield. Selling with cracked windshield. (cost $200) Missing drivers arm rest, easily replaced. Left front has some slight damage from a bump a long time ago. Original interior showing some wear on drivers side. There were only about 3,500 of these trucks made and there are not many around that hardly have a scratch or dent in them and are original.. Like this truck very much, but need some money. Any questions before bidding can be answered by calling 410 533 5347 This is a work cell phone. Truck is located 100 miles east of Dallas off I-20 near Tyler in a town called Big Sandy. Good solid, honest, rare truck that could be driven daily. |

Ford F-250 boots Cadillac Escalade from atop thieves' most-wanted list
Tue, 09 Jul 2013The Ford F-Series has been America's best-selling truck for decades, but along with the good comes the bad, apparently. In addition to being popular with consumers, the Highway Loss Data Institute notes that the F-Series Super Duty has risen in popularity among thieves. Based on its new study, the four-wheel drive crew cab F-250 Super Duty has topped the list for the country's highest rate of insurance theft claims, knocking the Cadillac Escalade from the top spot - a distinction the luxury SUV has held since this annual report was first established in 2003.
To reach its findings, HLDI looks at theft data from the previous three model years (in this case 2010-2012) to determine the frequency of claims for a particular make and mode,l as well as the average payment per claim. As the report points out, the claims aren't always for the theft of the entire vehicle - they can include components (say, wheels and tires) or property taken from the vehicle. At seven claims per 1,000 insured vehicles, the F-250 is six times more likely to suffer a theft claim than the average vehicle.
The Cadillac likely dropped from the top of the list to sixth due to additional theft-prevention features including a steering wheel lock and inclination sensor for the alarm, but GM's other fullsize trucks and SUVs still occupy eight of the list's 10 spots. Some of the least stolen vehicles with below-average loss payments include the Lexus HS250h, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V and Dodge Journey. Head on over to the HLDI's website for the full list that shows the most and least popular vehicles among thieves from 2010 through 2012.

Follmer's name will likely sound familiar to fans of American racing in the 1960s and '70s. The driver competed in Formula One with the Shadow team in 1973, ran the Indianapolis 500, was the Can-Am champion in 1972 and drove stock cars in NASCAR's Winston Cup as well. The multi-disciplined driver is now one of three -the other two being Mark Donohue and Swede Savage - with the honor of upcoming, limited edition Saleen-tuned vehicles..

NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
