1969 Ford Truck – Ranger

Restored

I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles.  Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle.

This is one of those items:

This absolutely beautiful truck belonged to a very dear friend who just wanted to restore it as a tribute to his late father.  The truck has a straight six engine (rebuilt) with an automatic transmission.  Almost everything in the truck, except a few little items, is new with receipts.  Here are just some of the items that he fixed/replaced in just the past two - three years, of course the truck was parked at his home and he rarely drove it:

$24.30    Timing cover gasket

$36.75    Carburetor choke cap it

$149.19   Module, Unilite Resistor

$51.31   Filter, hose clamp, etc.

$7.56   Gasket VC

$58.26   Lifter Hyd

$4.30   Fuse, tape

$36.74   Motor Mounts

$40.38   Spark plugs, oil filter, oil, hose clamps

$195.61   Fuel filter, heater hose, antifreeze, trans fluid

$73.51   Fly wheel

$3.99   Resistor

$17.29   V-Belt

$76.25   Alternator

$4.47   Gasket, hose clamp

$30.00   Drum Rotors Turned

$27.01   Wheel Cylinders

$59.97   Wheel Cylinders, air filter, brake shoes

$40.82   Battery cables, radiator cap, thermostat

$112.67   Antifreeze, spark plugs, oil filter, coil

$238.61   Rotor, starter, bolts, coolant hose, SW BLD

$387.13   Distributor cap, ignition wires, fuel pump

$93.22   Brake Shoes, seals, bearings, drum hardware

$20.53   Solenoid

$38.99   Master Cylinder

$216.24   Radiator

$57.43   Water outlet, gasket, springs, trans fluid

$38.41   Oil filter, oil pan set, vacuum tube, ties

$120.00   Carburetor rebuild – original carburetor

$43.22   Mallory cap, hooker comp gasket

$52.97   Extreme Performance 2000

$225.00   R&R Intake Manifold

$31.36   Motor Mount

$37.40   Starter

$1,565.71   Engine Rebuild 240 Straight 6

$522.78   Tires 4 X P235/75R-15

$361.95   Distributor Mallory Unilite

$211.40   Header

$150.00   Flomaster Muffler, pipe, parts and labor

$300.00 Gas Tank (new) from LMC Truck Magazine

Over $1000 in New carburetor, intake manifold and header

In the last 4 months the truck received a $1,500.00 paint job, a $217.70 original bench seat cover, and also a new carpet was installed, and new dashes cover.

When we got the truck it had been sitting for about 6 months, so we sent it out and a mechanic drained the gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor, and changed the oil.  The truck runs fantastic.  It is a Texas truck with only one previous owner.  It comes with a clear Texas title and all the receipts.  The truck has a very reasonable reserve due to a lack of space.

Even thought over $10,000 has been spent on the truck’s restoration, please remember that this is not a 100 point car/truck.

It is missing a small center cap in the middle of the steering wheel, and the instrument glass is a little bit foggy, but overall most of the work has been done and it only needs a new owner to drive and enjoy it.

All the inspections must be done before the auction closes.

Remember that this classic truck is 46 years old.  Please remember that things always look better in pictures.  So you are more than welcome to come see it in person.

Your bid is your contract.  Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item.

We require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes and the remaining balance within a week.  Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The truck will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee.

We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback.  And I may also advertise it locally.

Supercars for the win | Autoblog Podcast #515

Fri, May 19 2017

Some days at Autoblog are better than others. And in this episode, we talk about those days. Specifically, the days where we get to drive supercars. Mike Austin, Greg Migliore, and Alex Kierstein join up in this episode to talk about driving the McLaren 720S, Ford GT, and Porsche 911 GT3. We also drove some less-super, but still notable cars that we talk about at the top of the show. And as always, we play the game Spend My Money where we get to tell readers what we'd do if we were them. We had a lot of fun with this one, we hope you enjoy listening to it. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. Autotrader Logo "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," said Brian Moody, site editor for Autotrader.
