1966 Ford F100 Custom Cab Swb Pickup on 2040-cars
Flora, Mississippi, United States
I have a 1966 Ford F100 Custom Cab short wheel base project truck. It has a solid body with some rust in the usual places such as front of bed, lower radiator support, driver side inner cab corner and floor pan. The truck is a Ford factory paint code "08" Springtime yellow vehicle. The engine is a good running 351windsor small block. The transmission is a Ford aod. It will not shift out of 1st gear and will need to be rebuilt or replaced. The truck can be a driver once the transmission is taken care of. The radiator is a later model cross flow type. It has a remanufactured brake master cylinder. The headlights, tail lights, and hazard signals work. The turn signals were working but recently quit blinking. It may need a new fuse or? The windshield is cracked. The aluminum side mouldings are ok for a driver but should be restored or replaced if it is intended for anything nicer. I have the title for the truck. I set a low reasonable reserve. I need to sell this truck so I can finish another project. Serious bidders should contact me so I can email more pictures and discuss the vehicle better. I have another 1966 F100 swb parts truck with a factory 352 V8. 3spd manual trans. I had intended to put the drivetrain into the yellow truck. The drivetrain will be available for purchase to the winning bidder of this auction.

Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?
Sat, 13 Apr 2013This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.
China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market
Tue, 09 Jul 2013It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.
