1966 Ford F-100 Short Bed with 390 cubic V8 the original manual floor shift. I have a clear title in my name. This is a running, driving, Short Bed Ford Pickup that runs good, shifts smoothly, and stops good. The engine sounds good and has good oil pressure. Please look closely at all of the photos. I have super-sized the photos to assist in evaluating my truck's condition. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are getting.  If you have any questions, please give me a call.  My home phone, which is still attached to my kitchen wall, is (801) 745-0599. The reserve is substantially less than the truck's value.  I'm restoring a 1959 Thunderbird and I need the funds for this project.  The original owner told me that the 390V8 engine was the original engine in the truck.  The VIN number indicates that it was a V8, but doesn't specify if it was originally a 390. From my research, I found that in late 1966 Ford started using 390 V8s in these trucks, but I'm not sure if the engine is "number matching."  In either case, it is a good running 390 that sounds and runs good. There are after-market gauges that work properly attached to the dash under the radio.  It has an aftermarket JVC stereo with all of the paper work in the glove box. It has almost new tires. It comes with a spare chrome front bumper, a spare passenger's side fender, extra headlight bezels, and a period correct automatic transmission. Please look at the photos of the spare parts. Everything shown in the photos comes with the truck.

It is a good, 48 year old, truck, but it does have some issues. With this in mind, I will list in detail the negative aspects of my truck. 1. There is rust in the floors. The body and frame are in good shape, but the floors need work. I have been driving it as it is, but I would recommend correcting the floors. 2. There is a rust spot on the front of the hood. Again, please look closely at the photos. 3. The interior is in useable condition, but needs a good cleaning. Under the current seat covers are the original seat covers that are in useable condition.  The headliner is in place, but also needs a good cleaning. 3. There are a couple of small dents in the front passenger's side fender. I have collected spare parts for the truck and there is a solid passenger's side fender that comes with it.

A $500.00 PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction closing.  If you don't have a PayPal account, please give me a call to work out arrangements.  If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks in your Ebay feedback score please email me or give me a call. My phone number is listed above. I want this to be a good, straightforward, auction. Please check my ebay feedback. I highly value by reputation on Ebay and, as I mentioned, I want the new owner to be satisfied with my truck.

In response to a question from an Ebay member, Yes, this truck can be driven anywhere. It has a new battery, new, professionally installed, dual exhaust pipes and mufflers, as well as almost new tires.

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.

Kawei K1 pickup blatantly copies Ford F-150

Thu, Apr 24 2014

The Chinese auto industry used to be looked at as a joke full of products blatantly copied from foreign vehicles. However, companies like Qoros and others show that the country's automakers have taken big steps in terms of original design. It doesn't look like every automaker there is ready to put down the tracing paper yet, though. Case in point: The Kawei K1 pickup pictured above, which is an obvious rip-off of the Ford F-150. In fact, the company isn't even hiding it. Kawei deserves a little credit for its openness. In describing the new model, it says: "No matter the black net grille and the outline of the headlamp, even if the styles of fog lamp and engine cover, it looks the same as Ford Raptor." It also admits that spelling out the model name on the hood is inspired by Land Rover. It's available with either a 2.4-liter, gasoline-fueled four-cylinder producing 141 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque (elsewhere it also lists it as having 162 lb-ft) or a 3.2-liter six-cylinder diesel with 106 hp and 181 lb-ft. Regardless of engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. The trucks cost around 100,000 Yuan ($16,033). So at least the K1 is a reasonably priced knockoff. According to Car News China, the K1 is actually selling in small numbers. The company made 10,000 of them last year and even exported some to Africa and the Middle East. Kawei's factory is doubling in capacity this year to build even more. You can read more about the truck on the company's website in some very mangled English. Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout

Tue, Nov 25 2014

Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. Go check out the full comparison to read all of the details, then let us know what you think in Comments.
