1966 F100 Lifted- Perfect Project Truck on 2040-cars
Sanford, North Carolina, United States
The truck is in working order, but temporarily down for minor electrical maintenance. Truck was not holding a charge in the battery, got new battery, new starter, and finishing wiring to get running again. Lights and wipers work, engine runs fantastic as it was recently rebuilt prior to my ownership. I have had the shocks and brakes completely replaced, and the electrical wiring for the light bar and radio et al cleaned up. Body has been sanded for exterior rust and primed, still needs bondo in a few spots and final paint job. Mileage on odometer is for rebuilt engine, but only has 5 spaces so when it turns over it goes back to 0. Reasonably confident per my mechanic that the 32,699 miles are accurate for the rebuilt engine. Originally purchased in south Florida, drove it to North Carolina with no issues when I moved. Functions awesome as a daily or weekend driver using a garmin for speed- otherwise needs a new speedo cable- have part number available with purchase. Registered in FL with FL tags, still- would not currently pass NC inspection. Huge lift on this truck, at least 7", with 35x12.5x16.6 all terrain tires (no spare tire). Warn locking front hubs put truck in 4WD, and comes with wire cable winch on front bumper.
Have owned this for 2 years now and slowly been working on it, just don't have the time to finish it out with paint job, etc., nor do we have the space at our current house. Sale must be completed in person - CASH ONLY. Title is free and clear. If I finish the electrical by the time you buy, you can drive it away, otherwise it will need to be hauled. I am keeping my tags so if driving you will need tags for the truck- or that's on you. Will provide Bill of Sale and Title upon purchase. |

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
Fiat boss Elkann being mentored by... Bill Ford?
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Fiat Chairman John Elkann has been turning to an unusual source for advice on the car business. While speaking during an interview with The Detroit News, Elkann said he often asks Bill Ford Jr. for advice on how to proceed with the turnaround at Chrysler. "It's great to have the opportunity to share this with someone like Bill, who has experienced many things and gone through many things ... especially linked to Detroit." Elkann said.
As the Agnelli family heir, Elkann has inherited a long and fruitful friendship with the Ford family. While Giovanni Agnelli built his first Fiat four years before Henry Ford created his first vehicle, it was Ford that showed Agnelli the benefits of mass production and helped pave the way for what would become the Fiat empire.
Giovanni's grandson, Gianni, helped mentor Bill Ford when he was elected chairman of Ford Motor Company. Now, Ford is returning the favor by helping Elkann navigate the automotive industry's tumultuous waters.
Ford recalling 830,000 vehicles to replace side door latches
Thu, Aug 4 2016The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service.
