I bought this very nice fully restored 1966 F-100 short bed step side about 4 years ago, from what I was told to be the original family. The prevous owner passed away and the son had no interest in keeping it so I bought it from him. The truck had a full frame off restoration about 9 years ago and rarely driven afterward. This truck had previously been in North Carolina for years from what I was told by the previous owner. I actually still have the original 1966 North Carolina licence plate that will come with it. It runs and drives great with a completely rebuilt big block 390 and a c6 automatic transmission. Its sports a Weiand aluminium intake manifold, holley carburetor, breather, valve cover, electronic cooling fans and more. Truck starts every time with the added electronic ignition, and newer battery. It also has power steering and has already had the power brake conversion done. Engine and transmission runs/shift out great with no problems at all. The engine does smoke at times but runs strong with absolutely no problems. It may simply need valve seals but I honestly have not looked into it.  The brakes are all new and in perfect working order as they should be. Truck also rides on a set of 15" smoothie wheels with brand new tries that I installed in 2011.  Dual exhaust with headers that lead into a set of flowmaster mufflers that sound perfect with the truck. The interior was completely redone and still looks great. The dash pad has one small crack rite in the middle only (very small). Added seat belts. All the glass is perfect with no cracks.  All the gauges work perfectly except for the speedometer. It needs a new speedometer cable.. Heat works great. All the lights, tail lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, wipers, etc.. work perfectly. As far as the body I guarantee you wont be disappointed! No rust and a very nice high dollar paint job that was done when restored. I would say the paint is a solid 8 out of a 10 score. The biggest flaw in the paint is on the driver side front fender where I paid top dollar to have the paint touched up properly and it was not. It is so small you cant even see it from pictures.  All new chrome, new weatherstripping/ rubbers on everything, new bumpers,etc... The inside of the bed is mint with brand new wood and stainless steel strips. Perfect floor pans, core support, battery tray, front body mounts, tailgate, hood, etc.. I have included some pictures down below of all these areas. Bare in mind this is a show and go truck not a cheap backyard job. This truck is very nice and garage kept at all times. Truck needs only minor things to be perfect again, or just drive as is and show it. Everything was brought down to bare frame and built back up. Everything under the truck is new just like the outside. This truck has won trophies best in class and has been in multiple weddings.  Good luck happy bidding and Low Reserve!

Truck may be for sale locally so I have the rite to end auction early if sold. When reserve is met it will be sold here only.
I have described the truck to the best of my knowledge. But if you have questions please ask before you bid and only bid if you plan to pay!
500.00 deposit due rite after auction ends unless other arrangements discussed previously.

Georgia does not and will not issue titles for classics of this age. Truck will be sold with Georgia state bill of sale along with a Current signed tag recite. With these items you should be able to obtain a title in your state if needed.

The 1965 Ford Mustang could have looked a lot different

Fri, May 8 2020

The 1965 Ford Mustang is unquestionably an automotive design icon, and nearly every generation of Mustang has some connection to that original car. Because it's such a universally-known vehicle, we were amazed to see all the different designs that were being considered. Head of Ford's archives Ted Ryan recently shared photos of design proposals for the original Mustang on Twitter that he and Jamie Myler found, and we reached out to them to find out more. As Ryan initially noted, the photos were taken on August 19, 1962, and they are proposals for the Ford Mustang. Apparently Ford had committed to doing a Falcon-based youth-oriented car at this point, and it did have plans to launch the car in 1964 for the 1965 model year. But after having little success with early design proposals, the company asked all of its design studios — the Advanced Studio, Lincoln-Mercury Studio and Ford Studio — to submit proposals. With only about two years before the planned launch, Ford was understandably short on time, and it's believed that the studios only had a month to create and present these designs. Lincoln-Mercury design proposal View 8 Photos The majority of the designs, a total of five, came from the Advanced Studio, and part of this was because they already had a couple of concept designs in reserve it could present. Two other models representing three design possibilities came from Lincoln-Mercury, and just one model with two options came from Ford. The Advanced Studio proposals are shown in the gallery at the very top of this article, and the Lincoln-Mercury and Ford proposals are in the gallery directly above this paragraph. The Advanced Studio's most radical design is the one that was clearly related to the Mustang I concept that would be shown later that year with huge wraparound rear glass, turbine-inspired bumpers and enormous side scoops. The other proposals from the studio were more conservative, featuring simple lines, grilles reminiscent of the Falcon, and one even borrowing the jet-thruster-style taillights made famous on the Thunderbird. Lincoln-Mercury had some impressively bold designs, particularly its fastback that had buttresses to extend the shape all the way to the tail. This car had two different side trim possibilities. The other Lincoln-Mercury design was toned down a bit, but had two interesting possibilities for side detailing, as well as some crisp, low-profile tail fins.

Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
