For auction is a very nice f 100 stepside truck. It was a military police vehicle in the sixties and still has the us property plate on the dash. The paint is one of those 699.00 special type paint jobs and looks ok from 30 feet or so. The body is absolutely rust free saving thousands in restoration costs if you were to want to re-paint it. Tires and wheels are 99% with less than a thousand miles on them. All glass is excellent as well as the weatherstripping. Every thing works with the electrical except the left turn signal. The throwout bearing wines a little when the clutch is pushed in but clutch works excellent. It runs and drives great for a 49 year old truck. The bed wood will neeed replaced but there is a piece of plywood there so it can be used to haul stuff if needed. It is a three speed on the column and shifts very nicely. Brakes work good and steering is non power but steers very easily. It only has 50,732 original miles and was very well cared for with the exception of the top of the tailgate which is common for these old trucks as they were used to haul things. Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect

The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
