I AM 51 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR! I was “born” in Dallas, TX at the Ford plant in 1965 and was owned by one person until 1981.
In 1981 I went to live in Kentucky with a man who owned a Rolls Royce dealership. He took very good care of me and
began keeping records of all my maintenance. Today, my owner has all of my maintenance records going back to 1981.
In 2010, I went to live with a new owner in Gettysburg, PA. My new owner made sure that I was always taken care of
and anytime I needed something, he would use NOS (new old stock) parts every chance he could. Like my prior owner,
he kept me all original.
In 2014, my Gettysburg owner decided he wanted a 1941 Indian motorcycle more than he wanted me so, we broke up.
I have all of my original paint with some "patina", too. I'm not completely perfect, but darn near!! My interior
and upholstery are all original and in STELLAR condition. I have an 8 ft. bed (an upgrade at the time), a 352 V8
engine (1965 was the first year for this engine) and my original AM radio and speaker (also an upgrade at the time)
work great. I have my original gas cap (these often get lost) and my lighter works, too. I have a standard
transmission with 3 on the tree. I do NOT have power steering or power brakes.
In 2014 I got 5 brand new Coker bias-ply radial tires. They are fabulous. Recently, my 51 year old exhaust system
was replaced. It was hand forged to fit me just right, but is exactly like my original system. Also, I have had
the driver’s side of my manifold replaced. Neither of these items were numbered.
I often go to car/truck shows and have won several trophies and plaques (these come with me - I'm proud of them).
I have even been invited to be in 2 movies, but could never make the schedule work. I have been in Christmas
parades and Homecoming parades as well. I still feel like a teenager and my original, low mileage reflects it.
Like my owner says, “You’re only original once”. I’m a much loved survivor and every person in my path has
loved me and taken really good care of me. I have spent very little time exposed to the elements. I'm a truly
special, unmolested piece of history. For all the purists out there, I'm what you're looking for.
I come with a box of old maintenance books, original paint chips and an ENTIRE EXTRA BOLT OF INTERIOR NOS FABRIC.
My interior is beautiful, but I come with enough to be re-upholstered if ever needed.
It looks like my very first owner put farm mirrors on me. It think my second owner did not like them and removed
them and put the smaller side mirrors on (which would have also been accurate for my production year and an
available option).

Ford recalls 1.48 million F-150s for transmission, plus other models
Wed, Feb 13 2019Weeks after recalling more than 800,000 F-Series pickup trucks for a fire risk, Ford has issued another separate recall for approximately 1.48 million 2011-2013 F-150s for a transmission fault. The six-speed automatics could unexpectedly downshift into first gear without warning. Ford and Lincoln tangentially issued much smaller recalls for the Mustang, Continental, Nautilus, and Navigator. According to Ford, some 2011-2013 model year F-150 pickups with six-speed automatic transmissions could "experience an intermittent loss of the transmission output speed sensor signal to the powertrain control module." This could potentially cause the trucks to temporarily downshift, which could be dangerous if it occurs while driving. Of the 1.48 million affected trucks, 1.26 million are in the U.S. while 221,000 are in Canada. Thus far, Ford knows of five reported accidents involving the issue. To remedy the problem, owners can take their trucks to dealers to update the power control module software. Ford also issued recalls for about 4,350 2019 Mustangs, Lincoln Nautiluses, and Lincoln Navigators in the U.S. and Canada due to a possible fault with the instrument clusters. Although there have been no reports of accidents, Ford says the instrument panel clusters assemblies might be blank or not turn out when the vehicle is started. Additionally, Ford issued a third recall for 28,200 2017-2019 Lincoln Continentals in the U.S. and Canada. Ford says silicon contamination might build up inside the door latch motor, causing it to malfunction. As a result, the door latch might not always fully engage, and the doors could possibly open unexpectedly. Despite no reports of accidents, Ford will remove and replace door latch assemblies on all doors for those affected by the defect. If any of these apply to a vehicle you own, contact Ford to discuss whether it is included in any of these recalls and have the vehicle checked out at a Ford dealership.
Ford Recalls '13 Escape For 11th Time
Fri, Aug 15 2014Only in dealer showrooms for two years now, the 2013 Ford Escape has already been recalled for safety hazards 11 times. The most recent recall for the beleaguered vehicle came Friday, when the company announced it was recalling almost 160,000 Escapes and Focus ST hatchbacks from the '13 and '14 model years because of a wiring problem that could cause the engine to stall. Caused by a faulty wiring harness, Ford said the defect could result in reduced power, hesitation or outright stalling. The company said it knew of no crashes or injuries caused by the flaw. Customers affected will be notified by mail. It was the latest problem for a vehicle beset by recalls from the moment it started rolling off the assembly lines. Starting on July 6, 2012, the '13 Escapes have been recalled for an assortment of problems, including multiple hazards with fuel lines that could result in engine fires, fluid leaks in the engine that could also result in fires, problems with engines overheating, delays in airbags deploying and more.
