1957 Ford F-100 2WD RWD Short Bed Straight Side base model truck.  I bought this in El Paso Texas last year off of eBay for a project this year that never materialized.  It was purchased for a total tear down and rebuild into a bagged street rod.  Motor looks to be original, frame and body numbers match.  Looks to be all original frame, suspension, drive train but that is my assumption.  Did not matter since it was going to be stripped down.  Just needed the title and decent sheetmetal.  It starts and runs, but with much anger and resistance, lol.  It blows blue smoke, runs rough/misses, but idles after started.  Carb is leaking out the seals but has no problem responding to the pedal and getting the motor to move the truck around.  Shifts, brakes, turns...  just not a street worthy vehicle at all.  Great foundation for a build.  Not need to stress over modifying this the way you want it!  Worst part is the hood front structural bracing is rusted away... but this hood was going to be deck, angled, and rebuilt anyways for a new latching system so enough steel for that.  Also the core support is solid, no rust but the latch assembly area has been rewelded and strengthened in its lifetime... but again that area was going to be reworked for the new hood setup... again no biggie for me.  The rust in the cab corners, footsteps, under footwell bracing, front of bed at cab... etc...  all very typical of this year truck and replacment panels are cheap and readily available.  Open Texas Title.  NO SHIPPING!!!!  NO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS!!!  Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup.  SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY NO RETURNS NO SCAMS!

****  V i d e o link of the engine running  ****  some people have asked about it. It starts, runs, idles...  but would need a rebuild.

SEMA crowns Mustang, FR-S as this year's hottest cars in the building

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

After wrapping up the first day of the 2012 SEMA Show, organizers handed out awards for some of the trendiest vehicles on display. Since the whole point of SEMA is to show off new products available in the aftermarket world for use in cars, trucks and SUVs, each year, the show distinguishes the most popular vehicle in various segments. Not surprisingly, this year's Hottest Car and Hottest Sport Compact are the Ford Mustang and Scion FR-S, respectively, while the Ford F-Series brought home the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler was named the Hottest 4x4-SUV.
More than 2,000 companies are at this year's show, and the display booths represents a "vote" for each car to determing the trendiest vehicles in each of the four categories. It isn't clear if these awards also take cars brought by OEMs into account, but the Mustang and FR-S were definitely well represented by both OEM and aftermarket show versions.
As usual, the OEMs showed up in force at the this year's SEMA Show exhibiting a variety of cars ranging from production-intent cars like the beastly Ford Mustang Cobra Jet to much flashier rides like Scion's Carbon Stealth FR-S.

2015 Ford Mustang production starts in Flat Rock

Today's the day, Ford fans. Production has officially commenced on the sixth-generation 2015 Mustang at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. As production ramps up, sales should kick off in the coming months.
The production news isn't just a bit deal for American fans. With the new Mustang getting a bespoke right-hand-drive variant, the pony car's worldwide availability has swollen to include 120 different countries, including its home nation.
"Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas, said in a statement. "Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience - one unlike any other."

Bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta hams it up for International Bacon Day

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

This is a bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta. It is a real thing, that a real, multi-billion-dollar company designed. And it isn't even April Fools' Day. Designed for International Bacon Day, which is also apparently a thing, the 2014 Fiesta is finished in Green Envy paint - we're told black paint, like the color of a skillet, made the car look camouflaged - and features 10 gigantic decals depicting strips of tender, cured bacon.
The design, which was approved by the CEO of Benton's Country Hams, Allan Benton, show off the depth of Ford's Custom Graphics program. Unbelievably, Ford will actually start offering bacon decals to everyday customers, including (and we can't believe we're writing this) dual bacon racing stripes which will no doubt have Carroll Shelby spinning and/or salivating in his grave, and a "side of bacon," which wraps a couple of strips over the rear wheels.
Benton, who Ford claims is the King of Bacon, had this to say: "This car just makes so much sense." The Fiesta's marketing manager, Liz Elser added, "It's just awesome to drive down the road in a piece of bacon."
