1956 Ford F100 Short Box Az Truck Barn Find Parked Mid 60s Little Rust Az Truck on 2040-cars

Year:1956 Mileage:63000 Color: body for the most part
Location:

Tucson, Arizona, United States

Tucson, Arizona, United States

1956 Ford F100 Stepside SB

Heres a chance to buy a nice original Ford F100 Stepside minimal rust AZ TRUCK
thats been parked on blocks since the mid 60s !!!
FIRST AND FORMOST - we didnt get a title for the truck. The truck has only had 2
owners and both have passed away. The last owner pulled the engine out in the
early 60s and put it on blocks next to his house, where it sat till last week.
The family sold us the truck with a bill of sale only - IF there is a winner and that person
wants us  to get a title for you, we can get it  in about 7-10 days. But the winner has
to pay the cost (which would be aprox $350-450 ) to get the clear title. Or they
can get their own title once they get it home.

OBVIOUSLY THIS Truck NEEDS A FULL RESTORATION FRONT TO REAR
BUT I WILL TRY TO DETAIL OUT SOME INFO THAT CANT BE SEEN IN
THE PICS BELOW.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.
NOT MANY OF THESE TRUCKS are around anymore this rust free.
YES it has plenty of surface rust,  but that comes up with 600 wet/dry in a few hours too.
The bed area has the worst of all the rust of course.

DRIVETRAIN: At the moment the original motor is not with the truck.
I do have access to the original motor if the winner wants it.
To get the shortblock out of storage and move it will cost an extra $50. I
have to pay someone to help me move it.
Some misc motor parts will come with the truck as part of the
winning price (heads, pullies, oil pan, water pump) AND the original
Automatic transmission will also come with the car too as part of the
deal.  Build it  anyway you want, and if you do it right youll never lose a dime
on it when it comes to reselling it.  Rearend  looks to be original.
Car rolls and steers making shipping a little easier.
A GREAT idea for a awesome project would be stuff a late model 32v
Lincoln Mark VIII drivetrain under the hood, or possibly a true Lightning
Drivetrain in it and make a modern day Lightning with a Classic 56 F100
for a win win situation. Very solid Cowl area .

INTERIOR: obviously needs a some restoration, but looks complete
and all the main stuff there. Seats, dash, glove box etc.
Floors are very solid as is behind the seat by the gastank and battery
box area too. Door jambs nice too. Paint inside looks to be all original.
All the glass looks to be good and original too which is a plus.

EXTERIOR: body for the most part, really straight, but there
is a dent on the RF fender in front of the tire and you can see
if you look closely the LF fender has had a repair many many
yrs ago in the same area. I believe 70% of the exterior paint to be
all the original See Sprite green Code G. If you look closely at the
pics below, youll see the running boards and normal areas that get
rust... on this truck are VERY SOLID. Its how AZ treats their vehicles :)
Hood is only bolted on with 2 bolts which is why it sits funny but it
too is solid and the hinges are fine.

THE BED probably looks to be the worst part of the truck
seeing as all the wood is bad and some of the metal here did get
rust damage. Some pieces may be salvagable, but at least most
of the stuff to rebuild these trucks are now available too.

SUSPENSION: basically all stock and original and probably
very worn out and ready for a nice Resto Mod restoration.
AZ heat has been hard on the rubber bushings even just from
sitting. It will eventually need to be restored too of course.

This truck is your typical rust free Arizona car but it is
a car that needs some rust repair and still better then one sitting
near the coast or in the rust belt. When we say rust free, we mean
no holes etc you are use to seeing on an eastcoast vehicle.

These Short bed trucks rarely even come up for sale in this condition
which is affordable to almost anyone wanting a project F100
Check out ALL the pics below ----->

it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

Ford tumbles to second worst in Consumer Reports reliability survey, list dominated by Japanese [w/video]

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

It's no secret that MyFord Touch has had its share of problems since being introduced, but the most recent reliability survey from Consumer Reports shows just how much this infotainment system has affected Ford. Just two years ago, the automaker was in the top 10 for the institute's reliability rankings, but since then, it has tumbled to the second-lowest rung just above dead-last Jaguar. In addition to MyFord Touch, CR also attributes a handful of new products that have had issues right out of the gate.
Compiled from 1.2 million subscriber surveys, this year's auto reliability survey heavily favors Japanese automakers, with eight of the 10 spots hailing from Japan. Toyota brands grabbed the top three spots (Scion, Toyota and Lexus - in that order) with Mazda, Subaru, Honda and Acura filling the next four spots. The only non-Asian automaker cracking the top 10 was Audi at number eight.
Audi climbed a total of 18 spots from last year, and Cadillac and GMC round out this year's top gainers breaking into the top 15. Helping Cadillac's upward movement, the CTS Coupe was named the most reliable domestic car. Lincoln, Volvo and Chrysler join Ford on this year's biggest loser list.

Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City

Thu, 02 May 2013

Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.
