1956 Ford F100 pickup project on professionally built street rod chassis by Street Rod Engineering. Adjustable ride height independent front suspension with tubular a-arms, 11" disc brakes, power rack & pinion(not shown in photos), set up for either coilover shocks or shockwave air shocks. Rear has a disc brake 8.8 Ford Explorer rear end with trac-loc differential. Rear suspension is a Grand National trailing arm type system set up for coilovers or shockwaves. Body is essentially rust free. No rust in the cab corners or floor. Just needs a scratches and dings fixed. Has a new firewall installed as well as Specialty Power wiper kit. Comes with a new air conditioning unit from Airtique. Has very nice front and rear fenders, running boards, hood, grille, bed and tailgate. Doors have very minor rust pitting on the inside flanges but are really very nice and only need a little work. Truck includes a Ford Mustang 5.0 HO engine and AOD automatic transmission from a nineties Mustang. I was told by the guy I got it from that it ran when pulled several years ago, so shouldn't need too much. It is just sitting in place in the truck so it needs mounted. No glass. The reserve is low, less than what the chassis work cost alone. I have moved and no longer have a place to store it, nor the time to work on it so I am letting it go. My loss, your gain. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.

Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues
Fri, 09 May 2014Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.
