1955 Ford F100 satin black with a black and white interior. The truck was used by a company for product promotion/product placement at trade shows in San Francisco/Los Angeles/San Diego/Las Vegas/Phoenix. This is a very solid truck with no rust that we can find. Glass is all original and has cracks all around, the front windshield has 2 small rock chips. The retro stereo and the speakers were removed - so there is NO STEREO or speakers in the truck. The satin black paint is in great condition with some minor fading along with some dings, small paint chips, dents and scratches on the truck. The bed wood is in great condition. The front bumper, grill, radiator cover and a lot of interior parts have been powder coated flat black. The brakes are the original drum brakes and have new pads, wheel cylinders and new shocks. There is no power steering and is all original. The tires are BF Goodrich Radial TA's and appear almost new. The front tires are size 215/65 R15 and the rear tires size are 235/60 R15. The interior is in perfect condition and appears new with very minimal wear with no tears or rips on the seat or on the carpet. The heater works good and it has a new heater core. There is no a/c. It has a Chrysler 440 engine that looks like it was well taken care and runs and sounds great. The engine has lots of new parts on it, new Edelbrock carb, new starter, new radiator fan etc... The Exhaust also appears new and has been H-Piped. We don't know if the engine has been rebuilt or the actual miles on the motor and truck. The automatic transmission is the Chrysler Torqueflite and works as it should with smooth shifting. The gauges are Stewart Warner and they all work good - the water temp gauge is a Sunpro water temp gauge that works and the amperes gauge is not working because it is not hooked up. Overall this F100 is in great condition and someone put a lot of work and money into it. The truck is appraised in the low $20,000's and the reserve is well below that. International bidders are welcomed and all offers will be considered. It's fun to drive, rides down the rode very good and is very fast. Any question's just email. |

Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. Details of the recall can be found in the PDF linked here.
The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011. Details of this recall can be found in the notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Ford gives police chiefs tech to surveil officers in their own cars
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Police officers certainly have a difficult job in keeping the streets safe, but as public employees in positions of authority, there is still a very real need for oversight. To that end, Ford is partnering with a tech company to offer a new system called Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement on its line of Police Interceptor patrol vehicles that could make cops safer, while giving cities a better idea of what its officers are doing.
The system streams live data about cruisers back to the home base to people like the police chief or shift supervisor. That info includes expected things like speed, location and cornering acceleration, but it gets incredibly granular as well, with records of things like if emergency lights are on, or even if an officer is wearing a seatbelt.
Ford Telematics for Law Enforcement "ought to protect officers as much as it protects the public," said Ford spokesperson Chris Terry to Autoblog. Constantly monitoring patrol cars offers cities a lot of advantages, too. First, it reduces potential liability because a department can prove where each vehicle is at all times. Also, officers know they are being watched and may potentially drive more safely.
Ford paying $750 million just to close plant in Belgium
Thu, 21 Mar 2013According to a report from Reuters, Ford is shelling out $750 million in a severance deal that will see the automaker close its facility in Genk, Belgium. The automaker reached this deal with the 4,000 hourly workers employed at the plant last week, which means the company will pay out an average of $187,500 per worker.
Ford is still negotiating with the 300 salaried workers at the factory, which currently produces the Mondeo sedan. All told, Ford expects to lose around $2 billion in Europe thanks in no small part to the region's ongoing economic downturn, and two more plants are scheduled to be shut down in Europe this year. The company will log its $750 million payout under "special items" for this quarter.
As you may recall, Ford took a similar path in the US back in 2009 when the domestic market took a spill. Back then, the company shelled out around $50,000 per employee with at least one year of experience, plus either $25,000 toward a new car or an extra cash payment of $20,000. It would seem the cost of closing plants in Belgium is a much harder pill to swallow than in the States...
