1955 Ford F-100 V8 Original Barn Find Survivor on 2040-cars
Wichita Falls, Texas, United States
Here is another from my collection up for sale. A 1955 Ford F100 original survivor. The clean and clear Texas title is ready to be transferred over to the new owner. The vin shows that this is an original truck out of the Dallas plant and goldenrod yellow since day one. Also shows the 239 v8 and three on the tree as original as well. A real survivor which was last registered in 84. My only goal on this truck was to bring it back to running condition since it had been sitting untouched for years under a cover in a garage. I did a complete oil change with filter, new fuel filter, fuel lines front to back and complete gas tank clean out. I completely disassembled the carb and cleaned it, I lubed and oiled all rockers, checked all of the pushrods, installed new intake gaskit when going back on as well. I had the original started rebuilt and a installed a new factory fuel pump. The first start was good with no unusual noise or smoke of anykind. I ran it last night in 38 degree weather for about 20 minutes and I believe it awake and nearly ready to go after years of sleep. The only thing that I would do is new brakes, a battery charge and possibly an alternator to get it road worthy. I forgot to mention, I also just installed a full set of 5 new cooper tires on it. As you can see it is very straight. I have found one rust area inside the rear driver fender at the bottom on the edge. Probably one of the best places for it to be. It cannot be seen from the outside either. The interior is nice as well. the windshield has a crack but can still be bought online. the side glass is new. I also have new handles andcranks that have not yet been installed. The rubbers all good too. This really is a survivor. WIth a buff and polish it would be real nice, i have not even cleaned it. The truck could be back on the road in a weekend! I might consider trade on a 69 chevelle if anyone has one. Thank you for looking, I will be happy to help in arranging shipping or help in loading the truck. Sold as is where is.
On Dec-06-13 at 18:38:37 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a couple of emails asking if this truck is show quality.I thought I would say that it is super clean and straight but not show quality. It is a nice and cool 58 year old truck. Thanks for all of the interest. |

Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board
Wed, Apr 3 2019Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.
2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Wed, 12 Dec 20122012 is almost in the books and automakers are spending December gearing up for the 2013 auto show season, which tips off next month at the Detroit Auto Show. Traditionally, the latter opens up with the announcement of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards, and this year figures to be no different.
But up until this moment, we didn't know which six vehicles would be parked ahead of the stage as finalists, with executives and engineers waiting for the winners to be disclosed. Whittled down from October's "short list" of nominees (11 cars and 10 truck/utility vehicles), the finalists are as follows:
2013 North American Car of the Year:
