For sale is a very nicely restored 1955 Ford F-100 1/2 T stepside shortbox pickup.

The truck starts right up, runs and drives well with good brakes.  This truck is pretty

fast with its rebuilt original 272 bored .30 over.  Rebuilt by the previous owner.  Later model 4-speed put in by previous owner also.  Shifts well.  The engine and exhaust sound strong.  Dual exhaust.  Power steering and brakes.  The dual exhaust has a good healthy rumble sound.  The hood of the truck is a forward tilt design that allows great access and uniqueness.  This '55 F-100 rides on near new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 radial tires and very nice American Racing rims that really set the look off.  The body of this one is in excellent shape and the glass and stainless is nice too.  The underside is very solid as seen in the photos.  The bed is steel with a rubber mat and a snap-on bed cover is very convenient when hauling your "stuff".

The interior is almost new and looks great.  The bucket seats are very comfortable and are very nice.  The headliner and doors panels are nice.  Cool wood steering wheel.  The added-on guages work, but the speedo does not.  One very great feature on the F-100 is the added A/C which blows cold.  The wipers are working.  Horn works.  Turn signals, taillights and headlights work.  Has very good carpet and FORD floormats.  The truck also has seatbelts for both seats.

This is a really cool 1955 Ford pickup cruiser that can be enjoyed right now.  Not that many of these '55 Ford 1/2 T pickups left, let alone in excellent condition.  This one gets a lot of looks and appreciative waves as it cruises threw town.

Ford Explorer, Expedition next to go aluminum?

Ford made some serious waves when it unveiled the latest F-150. Instead of making its bodywork out of steel, like just about every other truck on the market, Ford went with aluminum. And you can bet the F-150 won't be the last Ford model to go with the lightweight alloy construction, either.
Our compatriots at Edmunds report that Dearborn is considering replacing two of its most popular SUVs with aluminum versions. One candidate is the Expedition, which would make sense considering that the current model (like the two preceding generations and the fullsize Bronco before it) is based on the F-150's underpinnings. Another is the Explorer, which was traditionally based on the Ranger pickup but went with a car-like unibody chassis in its current iteration. If the Explorer does go the way of aluminum, don't expect it to be a part of its very next update, which is likely due too soon for such major changes.
It would stand to reason that, if the Expedition were to go aluminum, so would the next-generation Lincoln Navigator. Ditto the MKT together with the Explorer. But those aren't likely to be the only models in contention for aluminum construction. Like any other automaker, Ford is under pressure to steadily reduce its carbon emissions and improve its fuel economy figures, prompting it to look at a whole range of measures - including more efficient engines, lower rolling-resistance tires, active aerodynamics and lightweight construction. Expect aluminum to play a big part in that equation moving forward.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters

The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
