2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
This beauty has been good to us and we have treated it well, but we are moving to England (US Navy) and can't take it with us. Come get it at $11,500, more than $500 under the Blue Book value!
*Zip past anything (0-60 in less than nine seconds) and tow 7,300 pounds with a 292 hp 4.6L 24-valve SOHC V-8 driven by an electronically-controlled six-speed automatic transmission. *Protect your family with front-seat side airbags, dual-stage front airbags, an adaptive steering column to reduce intrusion in a front-end collision, adaptive airbag venting, driver-seat position sensors, and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. *Fit anything in the back with fold-down second-row seats. I just moved an entire loveseat! *Don't worry about snow and ice next winter, the 4x4 Auto with Ford's Control Trac AWD system will get you there safely. *Show off your leather seats and wood trim. *Smoke-free its entire life. The one flaw in this diamond is the third-row seats. They need the lift arms replaced. Phil Long Ford priced the labor at $208, and you can get both arms for around $450 total online. That's $658 in repairs. Blue Book on this car without the repair issue is $12,625. I'll offer it for $11,500. If you don't need the third row right now, save the money and fix it later - you're getting a great SUV. If you do need the seating, you're still $500 under the private party value for Blue Book and I'll help you order the arms. If you bought it from a dealer, Blue Book says it would cost $2700 more than my price. You won't find a recent model with mileage or a price this low - feel free to check Autotrader. Thank you for considering it. |

Ford's Troller introduces even more rugged T4 SUVs in Sao Paulo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014The Bronco may be long gone from Ford dealerships back home, but down in Brazil its spirit lives on in the Troller brand. Founded independently in 1995, Ford do Brasil took over Troller in 2007 and has been teasing us with its rough-and-tumble SUVs ever since. So with the Sao Paulo Motor Show coming up, Troller has revealed this special version of the T4.
Looking even more rugged than the existing three-door sport-ute, this special T4 packs a snorkel, winch, upgraded bumpers and knobbier tires. We're not sure what to make of the "sophisticated" brown and tan paint job, but send it north and the Jeep Wrangler would have a new challenger on its hands... especially since the Toyota FJ Cruiser was discontinued.
Alongside the version seen here, Troller will also exhibit another T4 outfitted for rescue workers. Scope out initial details of both in the press release below, enclosed in both its original Portuguese and auto-translated into English.
Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future
Mon, Sep 19 2016Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. Ford cleans up painting process with cameras
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.
