Up for auction is a wrecked 2006 Explorer Limited. The SUV is a 4wd and has ALL options except the sunroof. V8, heated leather seats, navigation, etc. etc. etc. It runs and drives and can easily be driven home.This vehicle originally came into my shop for repairs. We did a full tear down and ordered parts. Halfway into the repairs the ins. company denied the claim. I purchased the vehicle from the owner directly as you see it. No total loss. Clean title in hand. All of the big parts were already here so we installed them. The suv will need the following parts but not limited to, left front plastic fender liner, left running board, front left hubcap/wheel cover, left front abs wire(its cut, repair or replace), left rocker panel section(at drivers door,see pic). There is no door post or floor damage. It has not been pre pulled. We cut the rocker out for inspection. The abs/traction light is on from the abs wire being cut. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. I have no repair estimate ,make your own assumptions and judgement calls. I am not interested in fixing the truck or doing the repairs. Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.

Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.
