2002 Ford Explorer Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Wilmington, Delaware, United States
Just broken in…
Just purchased for an X employee, here is a very nice but not perfect high mileage 2002 Ford Explorer with a V8 motor that purrs, good inspection sticker 2 year Delaware tags, good tires, brakes and exhaust and if you buy it you can drive it anywhere in the country safely and comfortably. The only negatives that I could pick up on are that the oil pressure gauge is not working but there are no taps or noises from the motor, there is a small rust spot (see picture) on the inside of the passenger side rear door but no other rust anywhere on the car or under it, the airbag sensor needs to be reset and aside from that I can’t tell you any negatives regarding the car. The body is in nice shape with no major dents, only the one small rust spot inside the door jamb mentioned above, a paint chipping area on the right front of the hood and otherwise no dents, nice original paint and aside from needing a buff and wax, a good looking car from any angle. The interior is in nice shape showing no signs of heavy or commercial use, a tight and clean headliner, good cargo area and no smells of tobacco or pets. If you were looking for a four wheeler for the crappy weather we seem to have a monopoly on around here and you weren’t scared of the miles anymore than I am, here is a good car that will be sold, so thanks for looking and good luck with the auction.

2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.
Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.
Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
