THIS IS AN 02 EXPLORER THAT I BOUGHT FROM A TOWNSHIP IN PA. VERY WELL MAINTAINED, 4 NEWER GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES, NEW BRAKES, FRESH SERVICE AND MORE. THE EXTERIOR IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE EXCEPT FOR ONE SMALL CRACK IN FRONT BUMPER COVER. INTERIOR IS WELL ABOVE AVERAGE. IT'S PRICED SO LOW BECAUSE IT NEEDS SOME WORK. THESE EXPLORER'S ARE NOTORIOUS FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND THIS CAR IS NOT SHIFTING WHEN IT SHOULD. IT WILL WHINE AND SHIFT THROUGH ALL THE GEARS, BUT IT TAKES LONGER. I'VE BEEN TOLD SHIFT PACK, PUMP, ETC BUT REALLY DON'T KNOW. WEATHER YOU BUY THIS ONE OR NOT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TRANS CHECKED W/ ANYTHING OVER 100K. Ford recalling nearly 5,700 2014 F-150s for power steering issue
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Ford is recalling 5,675 of its 2014 F-150 pickups over an issue with the electric power steering system. There haven't been any injuries or accidents due to the issue.
Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Autoblog that the "electric power-assisted steering and motor position sensor gear were incorrectly installed by a supplier," leading to the recall.
While the recall is larger on the surface, it's important to note that only 260 trucks have been delivered to customers. The remaining pickups are currently en route to dealers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 19.
Ford to reveal Vignale sub-brand with special Mondeo in Frankfurt
Tue, 03 Sep 2013Ford says that 10-15 percent of its customers in Europe want their cars to be set apart from regular Fords - even those wearing the top Titanium X trim - and the Blue Oval will answer them with the Vignale sub-brand. The new brand proposes a more upscale look and a much-improved dealership experience, Autocar reports. The Vignale Mondeo will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show to kick off the new endeavor.
The first Ford to receive the Vignale treatment will be the 2015 Mondeo, a Euro-only model, followed by the new S-Max and Edge. The Vignale Mondeo is set apart visually from other Mondeos by a chrome grille and chrome door handles and mirror caps. Mondeo badging will be deleted - only Vignale badging will make an appearance.
The interior will get a more upscale flavor, as well, with quilted leather seats and door trim and leather covering the instrument panel, center console and steering wheel. A Vignale-badged storage drawer will be installed in the trunk, and in-car Wi-Fi is available.

As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
