I have a VERY nice 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 that I am listing for sale. It has a 4.0 liter V-6, Automatic Transmission that runs and drives PERFECTLY. The vehicle has ONLY 141k miles, and has ALWAYS been regularly maintained as per the strict Ford standards. The exterior paint color is Bright Burgundy Metallic, and has no dents. The paint still shines like new, as the vehicle has been garage kept, and waxed regularly. The interior is Tan Cloth, and has no rips, or stains. The factory floor mats are still in the vehicle and they look new. The vehicle has almost NEW Goodyear tires on it. The vehicle has always been taken very well care of, the engine runs great w/ no leaks, the transmission shifts perfectly, and the 4 wheel drives works perfectly as well. The mileage is low due to the vehicle was primarily used for local travel. This Explorer is a vehicle that you can purchase with full confidence and dependability. The Explorer comes equipped with;
Automatic Transmission Power Steering Power Brakes Power Mirrors Power Windows Power Door Locks Tilt Steering Cruise Control Cold AC & Hot Heat Premium Sound Factory Stereo System Push Button 4 Wheel Drive Premium Alloy Wheels Tinted Privacy Windows Bucket Seating Rear Fold Down Seating Premium Console w/ Cupholders and Hideaway Storage Driver's Side Storage Passenger's Side Storage Lighted Vanity Mirrors Steering Wheel Equipped Stereo Controls Rear Window Defogger/ Washer/ Wiper The following NEW items have recently been installed; NEW Spark Plugs & Wires NEW Timing Chain and Tensioner Replacement at 100k Miles NEW Sensors NEW Serpentine Belt NEW Hoses NEW Radiator Flush & Fluid Replacement at 130k Miles NEW Professional Detail Job Inside & Out If you have been searching for an affordable SUV, then you have seen that most vehicles even newer than this one is normally scratched up, dirty, and loaded up with miles. I hope that after you have seen what's out there, that you will then come see my Explorer. Then, you can see for yourself that it is everything I've said it is. You are more than welcome to bring your mechanic to take at look at it. This vehicle has always been dependable and needs nothing. I "may" reduce the price SLIGHTLY to help out a single parent family, or full time student. I welcome your call or text at 864-449-9914. "PLEASE" no lowballers, I do not offer financing, no spammers, and I do not need any help selling a vehicle. Take care and God bless! |

2015 Ford Focus
Tue, 14 Oct 2014Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.
New car market raining on convertibles' parade
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.
Recharge Wrap-up: Grimsel electric car breaks acceleration world record, electric Ford Raptor ATV debuts
Sun, Nov 16 2014An all-electric version of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is now available... as an ATV. Made by Caddyshack Golf Cars, it features officially licensed Ford badging borrowed from the super-macho pickup. It has a lifted chassis with leaf springs in the front and rear, hydraulic shocks and off-road tires. Powered by a 48-volt motor, it can do 0-25 mph in 2.9 seconds. Range is an estimated 30 miles - plenty to get you through 18 of the most rugged holes of golf you've ever played. Caddyshack also offers other miniature electric Fords, including a Shelby GT500, Shelby Cobra and 50th Anniversary Mustang. Read more at Green Car Reports. Lexus takes a crack at the BMW i3 in a new video from Funny or Die. In the decidedly anti-EV film, a group of guys drives to Las Vegas for a "dad-chelor party" in a Lexus CT 200h and a BMW i3. The Lexus hybrid makes it to Sin City without any problems, while the BMW's occupants need to make several lengthy stops to charge along the way, missing much of the fun. The video lampoons the inherent range limitations of the EV (the BMW group ends up driving slowly through the desert with no AC or radio to save energy), all in a well produced, if somewhat misguided, short comedy film. Perhaps they should have considered the i3 with a range extender? See the video below, or read more at Green Car Reports. Students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University have set a new EV acceleration world record. Their "Grimsel" racing car was able to zoom from 0-100 kph (0-62.137 mph) in just 1.785 seconds in less than 30 meters (98.425 feet), crushing the previous record of 2.134 seconds. Even more impressive is that the Grimsel was built by the students themselves, as part of the Formula Student team at the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich. The car weighs just 370 pounds and provides 200 horsepower and 1,202 pound feet of torque from the four hub motors. The Grimsel uses traction control to manage torque for maximum acceleration. See the record acceleration run in the videos below or read more at Gizmag, at Electric Autosport or in the press release from ETH Zurich below. 'grimsel' breaks world record The 'grimsel' electric racing car today broke the previous world record for acceleration in electric cars. The vehicle accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.785 seconds in under 30 metres. The new record was set by students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, who also designed and built the vehicle.
